A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING OF SUNDAY, June 22, took ' ploce at the First Presbyterian Church, when Miss Janice Erickson became the bride of Robert G. Hansen. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Erickson and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Hansen of Roseburg. Above, the bridal party' is pictured following the double ring ceremony. Charles W. Bates of Gold Beach, Ore., were united in marriage by Rev. liavmond Schacffcr of the First Bantist Church at the home of the bride's son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Cobb, 803 W. Lane Street, Roseburg. Mrs. Lewis Moreno and Mrs. Henry Hyiti sang, "I Love You Truly," and "Always," accompan ied by Mrs. Cobb on the piano. TArY -At - 1 - Nf d Mrs. Geraldine Gillespie, sister of Mrs. Ravmond Schacffcr, played the wedding march. The bride wore a navy dress with white accessories. Mrs. Ger aldine Burge, matron of honor, and Genp Cobb, best man, are the granddaughter and grandson Of the bride. Refreshments were served to friends and relatives attending the wedding. Janice lriclz$on $5 d3ride Of Robert Jdan5en One of the loveliest of J u n c weddings took place Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, when Miss Janice Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Erickson ot Roseburg, became the bride of Sgt. Robert G. Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Hansen of this city. Rev. Robert G. Hall performed the impressive double ring cere mony at two o'clock in theaftcr noon in the presence of 250 guests. A most effective lavender and white color-scheme was carried out in the church decorations, gowns and flowers of the bridal party and for the reception. White gladioli and lavender stock and tall lavender candles in candelab ra formed the altar decorations, while the pew markers were of white and lavender carnations. Mrs. Homer W. Grow played the traditional wedding marches and accompanied Leonard Leonnig of Eugene, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, who sang, "Because," preceding the ceremony and dur ing the ceremony, he sang, "The Lord's Prayer." Miss Deloris Horton and Mrs. Bob Willhite, wearing lavender gowns and wristlets of white flow ers and carrying white candles, lighted the altar candles. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charming in a gown of white slipper satin fashion ed with a full court train. Seed pearls outlined the yoke. 'The sleeves were wrist length and the veil of illusion was three-quarter length and held in place by a crown of seed pearlr. She carried a shower bouquet centered with a large white orchid surrounded by lavender orchids and tied with a shower of white satin ribbons knot ted with orchids. Mrs. Williams Hallcraft was ma tron of honor for her sister. Brides maids were Mrs. Robert Sanders, sister of the bride, Miss Marlcne Lutey and Miss Eardine Piper. All of tho bride's attendants wore strapless formal gowns of white fashioned ballerina length. They wore white net stoics. The mutron of honor carried, white carnations hacked with lavender ribbon and the bridesmaids carried lavender carnations backed with white rib bons. Georgia Sanders, nieeo of the bride, was flower girl, and wore a ballerina length gown of white sat in. She carried a basket of lav ender sweet peas. (Paul Jenkins) best man and ushers were Herbert Loennig of Eugene, William Hall craft and Charles Laurie, The bride's mother wore a blue net dress with white accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore a blue lace dress with lavender ac cessories. They both wore orchid corsages. The wedding reception followed at the beautiful home of the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Hansen, in Laurelwood. The white and lavender motif was car ried out in the decorations for the lace-covercd bride's table and the four-tiered wedding cake. Esther Reed daisies, from the W. J. Hutch gardens, decorated the buffet, while the sweetpeas for the table were from the B. C. Elliott gar dens. Mrs. Kenneth Ford decorat ed the fireplace mantle with an attractive arrangement of pastel blossoms. Mrs. H. C. Wells cut the wedding cake. Mrs. George Caskey poured the coffee and Mrs. Leo Young and Mrs. Charles S. Collins serv ed the punch. Assisting were Mrs. Edyth Uilmnro, Mrs. Bob Willhite and Mrs. Herbert Leonnig, nee Ruth Hansen, sister of the bride groom. The gu?st book wns in charge of Mrs. Bob Harrison. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were: Mrs. Carl Jorgen sen of Seattle; Mrs. H. P. Recr slev, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Peter sen, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Peterson and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Beck and daughters, of Junction City; Mrs. William Stilling and son, William, of Cottage Grove: Capt. and Mrs. Steve Fowler of Moses Lake, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Leonnig and son, Glenn, of Eugene, and Mrs. Lowell Rude of Adrian, Mich.. The bride was graduated from RoseourR High Scr.ool and has been employed at Miller's. The bridegroom was graduated from Roseburg Hi!h School. He attended University of Oregon and General Motors Institute, Flint, Mich. He is affiliated with Tau Kappa Ep silon Fraternity. Ha is stationed " Nellis Air Force Base, Las Veg Nev, For traveling the bride wore a lavender dress with white acces sories and a white orchid corsage. Following a trip to points north, Sgt. and Mrs. Hansen returned to Roseburg and will later go to Laj Vegas. Election of officers was held and the following were elected: Mrs. F. G. Ewens, president; Mrs. Joe Toman vice president; Mrs. P. J. Pon secretary, and Mrs. Carl Schmidt, treasurer. The tables were decorated with yellow and red snapdragons and blue delphiniums. Refreshments were served to the following mem bers: Mrs. E. S. Booth, Mrs. C. L. Spray, Mrs. U. F. McLaughlin. JOHNSON-TRAPAUIS WEDDING PARTY AND GUESTS ENTERTAINED Following the rehearsal of the Johnson-Trapalis wedding Satur day evening - at the Episcopal Church, the bridal parly and out-of-town guests were honored at a chicken dinner at the Trapalis home at 231 East Lane Street. Mrs. Ted Malone was in charge of ar rangements for the affair. Ecsides the wedding party, those present were: Mrs. Grace Tra palis of Springfield; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of Amity; Mrs. Floyd Van Buskirk of Redmond; Miss Kalliope Zuvelns of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Malone of Roseburg. On June 10, the bride-elect, Miss Irene Trapalis, entertained at a 12 o'clock luncheon at her home on East Lane Street, having as guests: Mrs. Millon Lindley, Mrs. Richard Murphy, Mrs. Harold Mob ley, Mrs. Dale Lander, Mrs. Tyler Evans and Mrs. Charles Hefty. SHOWER PARTY IS LARGE AFFAIR OF FRIDAY EVENING Mrs. Ralph Loomls and Mrs. Walter Crosier were hostesses at a charming bride-elect shower in honor of Miss Mary Ellen McKay at the Wilbur schoolhouse Friday. The room was beautifully decor ated with bouquets of roses and delphiniums. The center table vas covered with a lovely lace table cloth and heaped high with gayly wrapped gifts. Mrs. Frank Bistak, president, announc ed the ladles will meet the fourth Thursday of every month during the summer until regular schedule of meetings Is resumed in tho fall. These gatherings will be no-hostess affairs. Mrs. Cecil Hays was chairman for the evening assisted by tho Mesdames I. J. Murray, E. A. Johnson, Frank Bistak, Chester Thompson and E. L. Tauscher.
