Rose burg had 104 registrants In the sta for the winter term. Includ ing 23 men and 81 women. Chancellor Charles D. Byrne said that winter term enrollments in state-wide classes in 47 towns totaled 2,372 students, taking 7, K" hours of study. In addition 2,704 students were enrolled in the Portland Extension Center, and 658 new registrations were record ed in correspondence study, or a Srand total of 5,734 In the Exten sion student body for winter term. Eugene led the down-state towns with 560 students, Salem followed Wltn 230. Although enrollments In corre spondence study vary from day to day as courses are completed and others are begun, the 658 new registrants joined ( level of 3,500 correspondence students current ly doing work by mall. ' Visits In Roseburg Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ashley of Roseburg had as Memorial weekend guests their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. B, Larson of Grants Pass. Both are former residents here.
