JEAN VODER Cams'; Valley School Citizen' Com -' .tee held a pioneer meet ing Wednesday Feb. 13, at the c h o o 1. Superintendent Marlen Yoder, acting chairman, explained that the committee was created with the sanction and backing of the official school board to study problems relating to the school. Lowell Standley was elected chairman; Mrs. Arnold Bartley, secretary; and Bob Wheeler, vice chairman. Guy Moore was aslud to prepare a talk on the reorganiza tion bill for the next meeting. Four other members are studying the bill to be ready for discussion. May 19 is the date for the other meeting to be held this year. Those present were Mrs. Ben Pasco, Mrs. Art Jones, Ted Heilman, Mrs. J. A. Combs, .lark Parrot' le Wilson, Orley Weist, Guy Moore, the newly elected officers, and Superintendent Yoder. Three free films will be shown to the public at the Camas Valley School Feb. 25, beginning at 7:30 p.m. A doctor 'rill be present to narrate the films. A special film fur women will be presented at a later date, deter mined by the women present on the 25th, according to Mrs. Guy Moore, head of the Cancer Society in Camas Valley. At a special meeting Feb. 15. Camas Valley Grangers adopted plans proposed by Ernest Booth, for their Grange Hall, after slight modification. J. A. Comba, chair man of the building committee, conducted the meeting. Heating the proposed building was under discussion, but no de cision reached. The motion was made to ascertain the cost of both block and frame construction, in cluding necessary specialized la bor, and decide on the type of construction to be used, at the next regular business meeting of the firanee. Those present were Chairman J. A. Combs, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. William Cun ningham, Mrs. Charles Crouch, Mr. and Mrs. Claughton, Ernest Booth. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Papst. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wilson and Joe Kirkendall. Church Board Elects Mrs. Ethel Brown was elected president of the official board of the Camas Valley Church at a meeting of the board on Feb. 14, following a Fellowship dinner. Hayden Taylor was elected vice president and Mrs. Ruby Moore, secretary. The elections were pre sided over by the Rev. L. G. Weav er, acting president, and Mrs. Weaver, acting secretary. Following the elections, the meet ing was turned over to the of ficers. It was decided the group meet monthly on the regular Fel lowship dinner night, the third Thursday of every month. S. ambassador to the Soviet Union, announced he will head the American Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Rus sia. Their aim is to spark a re volt against the Kremlin end to aid anti-Communist emigres of Russia. GRACE SAWYERS The joint Women's Missionary Council of the Assembly of God in Junction City was attended by a group from the Assembly of God Church, Elkton, and included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haines, Mrs. E. Walker, Mrs. Fred Riley, Mrs. Dort Mills, and the Rev. and Mrs. LaVerne Gould. Speakers at the meeting Included Rev. Mr. Rugwell from Alaska, and the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Earl V.'illkie of Bolivia, South Amnvica. Handwork brought to the meeting by the WMC was donated to the Wilikies, who plan to return to their field work in Bolivia. Rev. Mr. Willk'e and Mrs. Gould were classmates at the Northwest Bible Institute in Seattle, and grad uated from tho pioneer class of 1S37.
