In Eugene Over Weekend Mrs. Norman Cook of Roseburg spent the week-end in Eugene visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Krumdieck, and their two children. AT Mercy Hospttel Carla Tray- lor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Taylor of Roseburg, was taken to Mercy Hospital Monday to undergo major surgery. Drive To Sea Lien Cavai Mrs. M. F. Rice, Mrs. M. B. Green and Miss Agnes Pitchford of Rose burg drove to Sea Lion Caves last Sunday. Able To Be Out Wayne Hen ninger, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Henninger, is able to be out again, following his recovery from mea sles at his home in Laurelwood. ' Obtain Marriage License A marriage license was issued at Vancouver, Wash., this week to Homer Grobe Jr., 28 and Ruth Demarest 16 both of Myrtle Creek. Move Beck Here Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Firman, who have lived in Grants Pass for about a year, will move back to Roseburg Sunday. They formerly lived here before going to Grants Pass. At Mercy Hospital Lyle Fen ner, member of KRNR staff, was taken to Mercy Hospital at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, as a result of an appendicitis attack. He is reported as .doing nicely. Spend Weeend In Tacoma mc and Mrs. Wesley Fitch of Rose burg spent last weekend in Ta coma. Accompanying them was Mr. Fitch's mother, who is stay ing, there with a daughter. Visiting Here Mr. and Mrs. Seth Dixon, Ft. Klamath, are vis iting his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Dixon of Rose burg. They are also visiting Mr. Dixon's sister Mrs. Carrie Con nors, who is ill at Mercy Hospital. Oregon's Husband-Wife Legislators File SALEM lid The Richard L. Neubergers, The Oregon legis lature's husband and wife team, filed for reelection Wednesday. They are believed to be the only nusoana ana wue serving m any state legislature. Thev live in Port land, and are Democrats. Neuberger filed for reelection to the Senate, while his wife filed for anotner term m the House. Bartley, Kaier Hold Offices OREGON STATE COLLEGE, Corvallis Two junior students from the Roseburg area have been elected chapter officers of Acacia, national social iraternity at ure gon State College. They are Ronald Bartley, presi dent, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. Bartley of Canyonville; and Phil Kaser, social chairman, son of Mr. and Mra. E. N. Kaser, 343 N. Jack son, Roseburg. The 30 fraternities at OSC house more than 1200 of the approxi mately 3500 men enrolled. Bartley also has been initiated by the Oregon State College chap ter of Sigma Gamma Epsilon, na tional geology honor society. Mem bers are selected from profession al biologists' and geology students on the basis of scholarship and interest. Wesley McKeniie Sr., received word that their son, Kenneth, hai arrived in Los Ang eles and is a patient at a govern ment hospital. He has been sta tioned with the U. S. Army at Pan ama. Mrs. Jane Rhodes has returned from the hospital in Canyonville. She underwent major surgery re cently and ii convalescing satis factorlly. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Menley and Tom were Sunday guests at the William Mathews home. Mr. and Mrs. William Roberta are parents of a baby girl. They left Wednesday for California. Leaving Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bailey of Roseburg are leaving Saturday for a two week vacation. During their trip they plan to stop at Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs and in Mexico and Arizona. Mrs.' Edith Bailey, mother of Mr. Bailey, is coming from Medford to stay with the Bailey children, Joanie and Terry.
