All members are most cordially invited to enjoy the party. DRAIN PTA HOLDS WEDNESDAY MEETING The Drain PTA met Wednes day with a large attendance. A skit was presented by the moth ers in pantomime. Tuck of Roseburg plans to leave the last of the week for San r ran Cisco to spend Christmas and will then go to Los Angeles and to Pasadena for the annual New Year's day Tournament of Roses. Mr. Tuck attended the tournament last year. Home For Weekend Nancy Auslin, Roseburg, was in town visiting her parents and friends last weekend from the University of Oregon in Eugene. Nancy is a freshman there. She will be home at the end of the week to spend the Christmas holidays with her folks. To Hold Party Mrs. E. L. Tauscher and Mrs. E. R. Ruska Stationed At Lackland Air Base UMPQUA By JULIA OSBORN A special school meeting, called for voting upon the proposed con solidation with Roseburg, was held at the schoolhouse on the evening of Dec. 14. The motion was de feated 18 to 48. An all-school Christmas pro gram will be presented . at the Grange hall, Thursday, Dec. II at eight o'clock. The school is work ing on the preparation for the event and it is hoped that a large crowd will attend. No gifts are to be exchanged at the program: but each room will have a school parly at the school house the fol lowing afternoon and gifts will be distributed at that time. ii I Pvt. Jane M.
