Jacobson and son, Dick, of Roseburg will spend Thanksgiving in Dallas with the Jacobsons' son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Grem mel (Peggy Jacobson), and their small son, Steven. The Jacobsons will return home Friday. Become Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Liwson King of Rose burg and Mr. and Mrs. B. Block of Ashland became grandparents Monday, Nov. 19, when Mr. and Mrs. David B. Block of Roseburg became the parents of a daughter, Myrl Ann, born at Mercy hospital and weighing eight pounds three ounces. Mrs. Block is the former Myrtle (Myrl) King of this city. Her mother, Mrs. Lawson King, is a proof-reader at the New-Review. Co to Portland Mrs. Harry F. Hatfield and Mrs. Fred A Knight of Roseburg left this morning by bus for Portland to spend the Thanksgiving weekend. Edith Marshall, Mrs. Jane Stephens and Mrs. Marion Mark have returned to Roseburg, following a trip to Portland to attend the American Legion auxiliary conference held Nov. 15-16. Helen Bellomy, Port land; Wilda Thorn, The Dalles, department officers, and Mrs. C. Gunn, Portland, a national "Re hab" officer, were the speakers on' "Rehabilitation." Those attend ing the conference for presidents and secretaries will make their reports at the American Legion auxiliary meeting tonight at 8 o'clock in the Koblhagen building. Arrives From Wisconsin Mrs. Merle Lowden, nee Gertrude Laird, of Milwaukee, Wis., has arrived in Roseburg, having been called by the illness of her father, Binger H. Laird, patient at Mercy hos pital, who suffered a heart attach 10 days ago. The Lairds' son. Bur.; ton n. Laird of beattle, arrived here last week and is remaining here through this week. The Lairds' younger daughter, Miss Maxine Laird, spent last week here and returned the first of the week to bar work in Portland. Burton H. Laird's wife joined him here to day from Seattle to remain over Thanksgiving at the Laird .home on Winchester street. Binger H. Laird ii reported to be slowly im proving at the hospital. Joyful Bluebirds Mr At Dillord School Tuesday The joyful Bluebirds met Tuesday afternoou in Mrs. Lewis's room at Dillard school with their leader, Mrs. Gene Lesher. The group has been organized and the following officers elected: Barbara Lesher, president;. Patricia . McLennan, treasurer; Dona Mae Moore, sec retary. They are" sponsored by the Dillard Woman's Society of Chris tian service. , They are working on their fall project, which is building and fur nishing a large doll house. The third grade girls are making cur tains, crocheting rugs making the furniture and outfitting the doll house completely. They hope to have it finished by Christmas. The members present were: Pa tricia McLennan, Lorainne Fisher, Donna Mae Moore, Sheryl Laur ence, Barbara Lesher. Pamela Laurence. Genie Petty, Faith Arm strong, Suzanne McLennan, Dav alln Nichols and the leader, Mrs. Lesher. The Navy plane NC4 stopped at the Azores on the first trans-Atlantic flight in 1919. Jolly Bluebirds Meet In Dillard The Jolly Bluebirds were organ ized Tuesday afternoon at the home of their leader. Mrs. Fran ces Collins of Dillard. They elected Sandra Perin, president, and Shir ley Manley, vice-president. The Jolly Bluebirds will make and fur nish a four room doll house as their project. They have papered the walls and laid the linoleum, on the floors. The CHC Logging company Is sponsoring the group. The girls present were Judy Dorrah, Susan Trobough, Katherine Schiermeit ter, Joan Bertucci, Judy Wade, Judy Hillmick, Peggie Seabald, Perley Collins, Mary Gill, Ruth Ann Glover, Sandra Perin and Shirley Manley. Next week, the group will meet on Thursday aft ernoon at the home of their leader, Mrs. Collins. The Camp Fire and Bluebird girls have been selling peanut brit tle to the community.
