Don was graduated from Roseburg Senior high school last June. Home From Hospital Judy Ann Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Smith of Roseburg returned to her home Thursday after spending a couple of days in Mercy hospital. Assigned Te Panama Canal Geo.ge Packard, Roseburg, sent word to relatives that he has been shipped from Bremerton, Wash., to Panama canal to serve with the navy, in which he enlisted. Class Reunion Planned The class of 1951, which was grad uated from Roseburg Senior high school, will holds its reunion during the Christmas vacation. Cards have been sent to the grad uates informing them of details connected with the celebration. Snondina Weekend In Portland Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Erickson, owner and operator of the Kol etta Skating rink in Roseburg, are spending the weekend in Port land, where they plan to attend the skating show being presented there. Return Te Eugene Mr. and Mrs. Larry Watson and children, Mary Ann, Martha Gay and Lorry have returned to their home it Eugene, following a few days in Roseburg visiting Mrs. Watson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Back From Portland Mrs. Leland Van Allen has returned to her home lin Laurelwood, f o 1 lowing a trip to Porland to attend a school of instruction under the auspices of the Federation of Gar den clubs. She plans to attend a similar school of instruction In six months and upon completing the course, will be an accredited: judge for garden shows. Open House Scheduled The Heinline Kiddies school kindergar ten will hold open-house at a.m. Monday at the school in the Kohl hagen building, at which time par ents of the children are Invited to. attend the Thanksgiving pro gram. The program will be high, lighted with short play, written by Miss Wlshart of the Roseburg Public library. Daughter Bern A daughter, Leslie Ann, weighing nine pounds and one-fourth ounces, was born Friday, Nov. 9, to Mr. and Mrs. M. h. Spalding in Grants Pass. The Spaldings also have a daugh ter, Libby Lee, two and a half years of age. Mrs. Spalding is the former Sally Zoe Bates, daugh ter of Mrs. Nova G. Bates of this city. Mrs. Bates plans to go to Grants Pass to spend the week end with the Spaldings. "Veterans whose requests had been turned down need not file new applications," VA said. "Those who are eligible under the new law will be notified." Before Oct. 11, vocational train ing for Korean veterans was lim ited to those whose disabilities re sulted from combat, or from ex tra-hazardous service outside of mmhit Under the new law, a veteran may be eligible for training if he was dissbled in service sny time after June 27, 1950, and not neces sarily in combat or under extra, hazardous conditions.
