Stanton, editor of The News Review, left by plane Thursday for Portland to attend the annual meeting of managing editors of Associated Press member news papers of Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Mr. Stanton- is a panel speaxer on r riaay s program con sidering plans for establishment of a teletypsetter wire circuit for the Pacific Northwest. He is also chairman of the association's reso lutions committee. Harts Horn. Mr. and Mrs. George Hart have returned to Roseburg, following an extensive vacation trip. They visited the let ter's brother and sister-in-law in Florence, Colo. In Saguache, Colo., they were joined by Mrs. Hart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Schmittel, who accompanied them on a trip to New Mexico to visit the Carlsbad caverns. They en joyed - a luncheon in the dining room at the caverns. They stopped at points of interest in Texas and spent I day shopping in Juarez, Mexico. Enroute home, they stopped In Salt Lake City and re turned home via Bend and Eu gene. They report. Colorado a. most colorful at this time of the year, and they also thought the Willamette pass and Odel lake especially- beautiful.
