I Awards for pictures of the grade school football jamboree ' will be given by a committee of the Kiwanis club of Roseburg, sponsors of the event scheduled i for Saturday night on Finlay field in wtfich the four grade schools I will take part. Best pictures of football action, stunts by rooting sections, and comprehensive se ries will be selected by persons experienced in judging. r Subject matter of varied and unu.eial interest will be onerea photographers, in picturing thH antics of the youngsters in their ef fort to emulate the high school and ' college athletic extravagan judged by persons experienced in as. Prints submitted will be this work, and will become th property of the club for use in newspapers, school organs, pro grams and in national publications having interest in material of such nature. Should the photographers "cover" this event effectively, opportunity exists for publicity favorable to the community spirit of Roseburg. Situations doubtless will appear for the alert profes sional looking for parent-student cooperation in a community-wide program. Members of the public ity committee hope that material suitable for use in photo pages, rotogravure sections and ' slick magaincs may be "shot" while the high school vendors, girls' root ing sections, and boys' teams are in action, and that sophisticated or news treatment may be em- phasied for photographic themes, or numan interest leaiure ma terial. Merchants Cooperate Cooperation from local mer chants who advertise on the radio and in the newspaper in "plug ging" the jamboree has been freely given,, and the news media of Roscburi have volunteered their services in covering the activity. The committee wants ail who take Dicturcs to turn them in for judging, and believes there may be many surprise ideas sug gested from full participation by uiosc inieresii'a in pnoiograpny. Pictures entered or donated should be sealed in envelopes bear ing the contestant's name and de livered to Harold Hickerson at the chamber of commerce office, or Harry Hill's Shoe shop, or the Roseburg branch of the United States National bank.
