At the noon hour a potluck luncheon was en joyed. Some of the members finished quilting a quilt, which was almost completed at the last meeting. This quilt is for the firebox. During the business meeting, It was decided that the "mystery sisters" would be revealed at the next meeting and each person is to bring a small gift for her "sis ter" with their own name on the inside of the package. Name will be exchanged for new mystery sis ters at the Christmas party in De cember. Mrs. Kate Mack was ap pointed io una out ooout tne cost of siding for the clubhouse. DILLARD PTA HOLDS RECEPTION AND TEA The Parent-Teachers association of the Dillard school sponsored a tea and reception for the teachers of the school Thursday in the audi torium between three and live o'clock. Colorful fall flowers, dahlias. zinnias and asters, were arranged about the room and tables by Mrs. Fred Albertus and Mrs. Walter Mlddlestad. The two past presidents of the organization, Mrs. Margaret Mc Cord and Mrs. Rosemary Wright, presided at the beautifully ap pointed lace-covered serving table. They were assisted in serving by the following eighin grade girls; Marilyn Haumeser, Hester Eason, Sharon Andrus, Shirley Shepherd, Wanda Stacy and Carolyn Clau- son. Ed Hydorn. i president of the newly formed PTA and R.- K. Brand, principal of the Junior high, are co-ordinating their plans for a general program for the teachers and parents to get ac quainted and to see the newly repaired Junior high school build ing. There will be a short PTA busi ness meeting in order to present to the parents a five point rec reational program that the faculty wants for the children. Mr. Brand will also acquaint the parents with the teachers and with the general Junior high school program. Mrs. Odis Woodward will have a cuurai group sing plus addi tional entertainment. All mem bers are asked to attend and are requested to remember their se cret pals at this affair. At the last meeting of the or ganization, the president appointed Essie olson, Virginia Marr and Anna Peterson as department aides. The next regular meeting of the group will be Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the KP hall. EVERGREEN HEC HAS POTLUCK LUNCHEON The Evergreen Grange Home Economics club met at the hall Thursday with Mrs. Vivian Bur gess and Mrs. Cecilia Conklin as hostesses. The chairman, Mrs. Evon Wheeland, presided, over the business meeting. Plans were dis cussed for holding a carnival and bazaar Friday, Oct. 26, instead of the regular Grange meeting. All members are requested to make an apron and other articles for the affair. It was decided the la dies would take up quilting for tne puDiic during meeting nours.
