M., at the centennial for Mason din ner meeting in Roseburg Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Winney and daughter, Shirley, of Eureka, Calif., called on Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Cloud last week. Mrs. Chris Daniels and three children of Roseburg spent the veekend at their home here. Mrs. Daniels is teaching in the Junior high school in Roseburg, Anne is attending Junior high, Dick is at tending Benson school and David is attending a nursery school. The Canyonville volunteer fire department assisted the Douglas Forest Protective association in fighting fires last week. The first was a brush fire on the property of Robert E. Lee. The other was a forest fire near Alpine lodge. Charles Puckctt left this week to attend SOCE at Ashland. He was graduated from Canyonville high school In 1950. Mr. and Mrs I. N. Advice On Farm Income Increase Given By Jackman The percentage of population in the three Pacific coast states is exactly the same as the agricul tural income California 72 per cent, Washington 17 percent, and Oregon 11 percent according to E. R. Jackman, Oregon State college agriculturist. Jackman, speaking before the Roseburg Kiwanis club Tuesday noon, pointedout means where Oregon could increase its farm income, and thus support a larger population.
