Beck home on East Glen avenue and will take possession about September 1. Mr lulerich will leach biology in Suth erlin hiizh school this year. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Beck expect to move this month to the home they bought recently from K. H. Randall on East Thid avenue. Mrs. Emma Vandenbsrg shopped and transacted business in Hoseburg Tuesday. Visitors over the weekend at the Walter Norris home were Mr. and Mrs. William Clifton, Fortuna, Calif., Clinton Fenton, Oakland, Calif., Miss Kathryn Nevin, T o ledo. Ore.. Mrs. L. D. Stroherkcr, Salem, and Mrs. Velma Ocum- DauEh. Cottage Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Slack were in Eugene Tuesday, where M r. Slack had hia right arm put in a cast. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Braunlnger and daughter, Barbara, enjoyed a trip to the coast last Sunday. En route, they stopped at Sawyers Eaoids and visited Mrs. Hclmic Burns, formerly of Sutherlin. She is running a store and service station there assisted by her son, Eddie. Med Burns spent the weekend with his wife at Sawyers Rapids and Eddie Burns spent the week end in Sutherlin attending the Tim ber Days celebration. Miss June Young, who has been attending school during the sum mer, arrived in Sutherlin last, week to visit her mother, Mrs. Evylyn Young, until her studies resume at Oregon State college. On Sunday, they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Les ter Wimbcrly, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kissell. A picnic was held by the group. Mrs. E. D. Erwln of Longvicw, Wash., and Mrs. Hubert Hither son of Cottage Grove, have re turned to their respective homes following a visit here with the for mer's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Kullcilon. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Loomis and family are Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hill and family of Ta coma, Wash. The Hills formerly made their home in Rosehurg. Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Loomis are sis ters. Miss Mollie Fullerton enjoyed a day's outing at coastal points with a group of teen-agers on Sunday. Corrected Error Again Makes Birmingham Wet BIRMINGHAM, Ala. !') The blushing city commission, which accidentally voted Birmingham dry last week, have made the town legally wet again. The commission had Intended to outlaw only drinking of bay rum, paint remover, and other "skid row" substitutes for alcoholic bev erages. City attorneys discovered, several hours too late, that the resolution covered too much ter ritory. A carefully drawn law which rec tified the error was then passed.
