Be Talked Aug. 14
"When may we be Cubs?", or
"When will Bluebirds and Camp
Fire Girls meet again?" are ques
tions that may be soon answered
for youngsters of Fullerton school
district.
Camp Fire and Scout officials
will discuss the activities of their
respectiv egroups in the music
room of the new Fullerton school
Tuesday, August 14, in an effort to
organize groups in Fullerton dis
trict A preliminary meeting held a
short time ago laid the groundwork
tor tne meeting Tuesday. Leaders
from Scout and Camp Fire head
quarters were on hand.
Parents of boys from eight to
11 years of age and of girls who
are seven or older are urged to at
tend the meeting.
According to Mrs. Ralph Arens
meier, president of Fullerton Parent-Teachers
association, "the co
operation of parents now will
mean that the boys and girls will
be ready to join in the fall as the
program goes into full swing
throughout Roseburg."
Paying Back Income Taxes
Not Enough If Fraudulent
PORTLAND -UP) From now
on, just paying up back income
taxes isn't going to be enough
Allen Bennett said here.
Bennett, director of a special tax
fraud drive in the northwest, said
that if there were any evidence of
criminal fraud in connection with
failure to pay enough taxes, the
government would prosecute.
Persons in the Portland area are
under investigation, he said, but
he would not disclose how many.
Bennett said he had 100 men un
der his direction in the west, but
he declined to say Iiow many are
in the Portland area. The number
is "adequate," he said.

The company also announced
dismissal of its Circuit court suit
against Commissioner Flagg's or
der of last December denying a
rate application made in April,
1950.
"The court case is outdated
sweeping changes in the business
and economic conditions affecting
our operations having taken place
in the 15 months since the 1950
rate application was filed," Dres
slar said. "The ne wapplication

before the commissioner brings
up to date the company's urgent
need tor added revenues.
Roseburg Rates Affected
Proposed increases apply to both
toll and exchange rates and the
public and semi-public coin box
rate is revised from 5c to 10c.
