Long a controversial advocate of birth control, sterilization and population control, the 77-year-old Church of England bishop told the West London Medico Chirurgical society: Gambling Charges Hit 11 Men In Clackamas OREGON CITY JP Eleven men were indicted on gambling charges by a Clackamas county grand jury. They include Lonnie Logsdon, owner of most of the slot machines seized in a mass raid two months ago. Others were operators and owners of the raided taverns and night spots. The grand jury report hit sharply at police failure to weed out gam bling earlier. "Evidence before the jury shows that it had been conynon talk and knowledge that gambling has ex isted in these establishments for the past several years," the re port said. Friction between the state po lice and the sheriff's office con tributed to a "noticeable lack of gambling law enforcement," it con tinued.
