WORTHY GRAND MATRON TO PAY OFFICIAL VISIT The worthy grand matron of Ore gon Eastern Star will pay her of ficial visit at a joint dinner meet ing of Roseburg chapter and Oak land chapter Saturday night, March 17, at 6:30 o'clock at t h e Masonic temple. SHOWER HONORS MRS. JACK CLUSTER AND BABY SON A color scheme of yellow and green, carried out in the flower ar rangements and refreshments, was used for the attractive shower given Mrs. Jack Cluster and her new son, Timothy Jay, March 1. Mrs. Dale Moore was hostess for the occasion at her borne in Dil lard. Bowls of daffodils and spring greenery were used about the rooms. A large cake, decorated with yellow flowers and a tall stork, was served with the r e freshments. Gifts were received from Mrs. Clell Holteen and son, Gordon; Mrs. Lou Shigley, Mrs. A. D. Fox, Mrs. Merritt Burt and daughter, Maria; Miss Geannie Almslrom, Mrs. Mcrvin Brittion, Mrs. Byron McKean, Mrs. Frank Chapman and the hostess, Mrs. Moore and daughter, Derry Lynn. ST. GEORGE'S GUILD PLANS LUNCHEON A potluck luncheon will be en joyed by members of St. George's Episcopal guild and their invited guests, members of the Riddle guild, Wednesday at the parish house. The luncheon will follow corporate communion at 11 o'clock. DILLARD LADIES SEI DEMONSTRATION ON PLASTICS RECENTLY A demonstration of plastics was given by Mrs. Bonnie Moore o f Roseburg following a dessert luncheon Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. P. Williams and Mrs. Ivan Williams in Uillard. Mrs. Estel O. Nickerson won the contest game. Dunne the social hour, guests enjoyed looking at the hostess' dis play of beautiful antiques and chi naware. Those attending were Mrs. Mercy Buell, Mrs. Walter Hercher, j Miss Gladys Johnston, Mrs. Alton Owens, Mrs. Paul Rummell, Mrs. Estel Nickerson, Mrs. Ronald Burgess, Mrs. Virgil Post, Mrs. Louie R. Andrus, Mrs. George Mc Dowell, Mrs. William Ilenbach Sr., Mm. Willard Laurance and the two hostesses and Mrs. Moore. TAU ETA ETA PLANS FOOD SALE WEDNESDAY Tau Eta Eta met March 7 for a business session at the home of Mrs. Doug Keene. Members worked on layettes for Mercy and Community hospitals. Plans were completed for a food sale to be held Wednesday at the J. C. Sport ing Goods store starting at 10 a ni. WINCHESTER UNIT POSTPONES MEETING The Winchester HE unit has post poned its cotton dress workshop meeting from March IS to March 22. The all-day workshop will be held at the Winchester Community club building and also at the home i of Mrs. Russell Knutson. The work I shop will open at 8 a.m. A sack luncheon will be held at noon. EAST DOUGLAS EXTENSION UNIT TO MEET WEDNESDAY East Douglas Extension unit will meet Wednesday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Glide Grange hall. A sack lunch will be held at noon The topic for the meeting will be "Home Entertaining." All women of the community interested are invited. STUDY GROUP TO HOLD MEETING THURSDAY The Study group of the Metho dist church will meet at a 12:30 o'clock potluck luncheon Thursday at the home of Mrs. Lurien Cobb, 740 S. Jackson street. Those at tending are asked to bring their table service. WOMAN'S SOCIETY TO HOLD COFFEE PARTY The officers of the Woman's So ciety of the First Presbyterian church will entertain at a coffee party from 2 to 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the church parlors.
