Paul Flurry, Wilbur Thorp and Raymond Anderson were in Rose burg last week for their pre-induc-tinn physicals. t The Klkhead communitv - will sponsor a dance at the hall Satur day as a farewell party for the two Thorp brothers, who will leave soon for the U. S. army. The public is invited. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson i are building a new home west of I town. Because of the cabaret tax now imposed on refreshments served at dances, the Hayhurst Community club will discontinue serving lunches at dances. Mrs. Eldon l,ee returned home Wednesday from the Sacred Heart rpital where she underwent a major operation. Mrs. Louis Kircheskv. Mr. ami Mrs. Karl Freeman and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snuthwick became members of Klkhead dance at the regular meeting last week. Mrs. John l.ewey nnd Mrs. Carl Conaway were hostesses at the regular missionary meeting of the Yoncalla Church of Christ at the l.ewey home Thursday afternoon. The society plans to study Japan. Those present included M r s. R.'iper, Mrs. Russell Lloyd, Mrs. Donna Means, Mrs. Dan Benner, Mrs. Moody. Mrs. Shirley, Mis. Fred Lee, Mrs. Lewis McDaniels, Mi's. Jessie Smith, Mrs. Dan Wright, Mrs. Harold Boucock and Mrs. Charles Vian. St. Joseph's hospital and reported attendants there said Roland should go back home, take an aspirin and sleep without t pillow. Monday Roland became so ill the family railed a doctor. The doctor couldn't come. Then they called police who lushed the child unconscious by that time back to St. Joseph'i hospital. He was dead upon arrival. HEAR AGAIN?
