The Valentine motif was carried out in the decorations. Covers were placed for Mrs. Ma bel Olsen, Mrs. Anna Hall, Mrs. Lucille Chase, Mrs. Hazel Green, Mrs. Ruth Manning, Mrs. Helmie Burns, Mrs. Kunice Beck, Mrs. Grace Wood, Mrs. Juanita llolgate, Mrs. Mary Barker, Mrs. Klla Wag ner, Mrs. Charlotte Parker, Mrs. Maude Culver, Mrs. Bertha Barge, Mrs. Olga Bielman and the host ess, Mrs. Wahl. The business meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Lu cille Chase. Holl call was an swered by quotations. A letter was read from the club's adopted sister at the IOOF home in Portland. Mrs. Eva Lockman, Mrs. Cora Allen and Mrs. Lcona Slack were reported as ill. Mrs. Mabel Olsen won the penny prize. Mrs. Hazel Green won the first prize for the best telegram of proposal using the world Valen tine. Mrs. Juanita Holgate won second. Mrs. Holgate won a prize for the guessing contest. Mrs. Mary Barker won the door prize. MRS. VERN HOLGATE ENTERTAINS TILLICUM BRIDGE CLUB TUESDAY The Tilllcum Bridge club of Suth erlin was delightfully enlertained at a one-thirty luncheon Tuesday by Mrs. Vern Holgate at her home on East Third avenue. The Valen tine molif was carried out and the lace eovercU table was centered with red and white carnations, flanked by tall red tapers. JOYCE RIMELL CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH SKATING PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rimell of Canyonville honored their daugh ter, Joyce, with skating party at the Artlee rink Monday night, Tnp occasion was Joyce's 13th birthday. J. Rielmnn eptertained at a delicious dinner Sunday at their home west of Sutherlin. The linen covered table ws centered with red carnations nd red tapers. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larson of Hillsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Dorman of Oakland; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barker, Mr. and Mrs. Ed McCall and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Bielman. During the afternoon Mrs. Biel man showed pictures of the trip they took this last summer in Mex ico. Canasta was played later. SUTHERLIN REBEKAH LODGE PLANS FOR CARD PARTY IN NEAR FUTURE o Knthprlin Rphek-ah Indue No. 218 met Feb. 1 with Mrs. Grace Wood, noble grand, presiding. A new seat ing drill was used in opening lodge. Roll call found three visitors, Mrs. Henrietta Beswick, Mrs. June I Watson, Mrs. Mabel OlseHJ and 35 members present. Mrs. Leona Slack was reported as having a heart attack Thursday morning. Mrs. Eva l-ockman has pink eye. Gordon Holgate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Holgate, broke his arm but is gelling along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Peterson were called to Centialia, Wash, by the death of Mr. Peterson's mother. A silver offering for thet March of Dimes was taken and $8.60 was collected. A card party was planned to raise funds for the treasury and the following were appointed on the committee Mrs. Maggie Fran cis, Mrs. Hazel Green and Mrs. Juanita Atterbury. The refreshment committee ap pointed for the next meeting in cluded: Mrs. Hazel Green, Mrs. Mabel Ross, Mrs. Agnes Stout, Mrs. Joyce Brigham and M r s. Helmie Burns. Plans were made for initiation at the next meeting, Feb. 15, and EAGLES AUXILIARY PLANS SEVERAL EVENTS The regular meeting of Ladies auxiliary of Eagles met Friday evening at Walt's cafe. CAMP FIRE LEADERS TO MEET TUESDAY The Camp Fire leaders associ ation will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Christian church par lors.
