Miss Nelda Norris and Mr. Si Madson were the project leaders. After a sack lunch al noon, gift wrapping and Christmas decora tions were discussed. Articles that had been brought by the ladies to raise money lor the Azalea house were auctioned by Mrs. Hugh Ritchie, Azalea house chairman, assisted by Mrs. C. L. Spray. Reports of committees on this project proved most en couraging. Mrs. Thomas Pargeter, president, conducted the business session. The Christmas program, Pi planned for Dec. 21 to be held at S p m. in the school. Parents and friends in the (Smmunity are in viled. The respective rooms will hold their Christmas parses and enjoy Christmas trees Friday at 1 30 o'clock. The 8lh grade presented a de lightful talent show wjth Everett Jacobs acting as master of cere monies. Ginger Kettlemcn sang, ' Dear Hearts and Gentle People" and "The Chocolate Ice-cream Cone." Joyce Hudson presented a tap dance and Walter Kiifer played an accordian solo. Refresh men's were served by mothers of the taird grade. MR. AND MRS. MANNING ENTERTAIN BRIC&E CLUB Mr. and Mrs. Alva Manning en tertained their bridge club Satur day at their spacious home east of Sutherlin. Christmas decorations were used about 0e rooms. Th evening was spent in playing uriefge with Cliff Flory winning high score for men; Mrs. Flory, high score for ladies: Wilbur Payne, low score for men; Mrs. Bird, low for ladies and Mr. Payne the traveling prize. FAIR OAKS INDUSTRIAL CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY IS DELIGHTFUL AFFAIR Fair OaJ Industrial club held its Christmas meeting Thursday at the clubhouse. The room and tables were decorated with all types of Christmas candles, fir and laurel boughs and pine cones. Members enjoyed potluck dinner. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Ada Abeene, Mrs. Gladys Adams, Mrs. Pearl Adams, Mrs. Maggie Francis, Mrs. Evelyn Frotscher and Mrs. Myrtle Geider. Mrs. Dorothy Norton brought and dec orated a lovely Christmas tree. A large box was packed to be sent to the farm home. Its con tents consisted of childrens pa jamas, nightgowns, slips, dresses, tea towels and many other useful articles. New officers were elected as fol lows: Mrs. Ida Weber, president; Mrs. Martha Davis, vice-president; Mrs. Wilma Pelland, secretary and tie&surer. A vote of thanks was given the out-going president, Mrs. Mabel Crouse. Gifts were exchanged with Mrs. iQrothy Rose and Mrs. Ida Weber in charge. Pollyanna gifts were also exchanged. Three visitors present were Mrs. Martha Gunnison, of Waupun, Wixconsin; Mrs. Eva Lockman, Wilbur, Ore.; Mrs. Mabel Olson, Portland. The chaplain, Mrs. Meryl Wahl, presented a very impressive mem orial service in memory of Re bekah members and close relatives of Rebekah's, who have passed away in the past year. The beautiful and impressive ob ligation ceremony was exemplified by the officers of the lodge. Next meeting will be a Christmas party and potluck dinner after lodge with the exchange of gifts. The gifts are not to exceed 50 cents Members are asked to bOng their own table service. Gifts are also to be brought for the lodge, such as tea towels and small items tlOt ci:n be used. The program will include two numbers by Barbara Gadway, sec ond grade pupil, who will play and sing "Oh Little Town of Bethle hem," and "Away in the Manger." Miss Helen Casey will give the reading, "The Ruggles Family"; the ninth grade boys chorus will sing Christmas carols under the di rection of Wet dell Johnson, and the Christmas story will be pre sented by Rev. "Toast" was the topic of the November meeting. The meeting held last Friday had as the topic, "Cereals." Corn meal mush was made as a demonstration and cereal.-: were discussed. Roll call was answered by members telling the name of a cereal. Group singing was enjoyed and the game, "Mu-si'--,l chairs" closed the meeting. The name of the group is "Chefs to Be."
