In the picture above at the left is Mrs. Delia Gammon, who celebrated her 90th birthday last sum mer, and who enjoyed Mrs. Rhoads1 party. Anlauf of Mvr tle t reek celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Oct. 28 with all their five children at home. They were married in Knob. Calif, in 1900 and came to Myrtle Creek in 1904 where they have lived contin uously. Mr. Anlauf operated a black smith shop in Myrtle Creek for many years. J GLENDALE REBEKAH'S PLAN HARVEST DINNER The Mountaineer Rehekah lodge No. 149 of Glendale, held its regu lar meeting in the I.O.O.F. hall Thursday night, Nov. 16. Helen Davis, Rebekah assembly presi dent, was present. She was accom panied hy Christine Olson, as sembly chaplain, for her official visit to the chapter. -The initiatory degree was conferred on four new members: Dorothy Mize, Charlene Menke, Mary Golden and Julie Belanger. Plans for a Harvest Home Dinner were made. This will be held Thursdav, Nov. 30, at the I.O.O.F. hall. The Rehekah and Odd Fellow families are invited. The F. L, girls paid tribute to Helen Davis by honoring her with a drill and presented her with a bouquet of orchid and yellow chry santhemums. After a talk hy Helen Davis, president, the meeting was adjourned to the dining room for refreshments. MRS. DAUGHTER BANQUET The Mother Daughter banquet held Saturday ejvening at the Suth erlin senior high school by the Parent Teachers association, was a grand success and 17S persons were served. The tables were dec orated in the harvest and Thanks giving motif. Place cards of white ttirke.v were made by Mrs, Betty Gillman. Mrs. Fred Brauninger gave the invocation and a turkey dinner was served by Mrs. Thelma Wilson's Home Economics class. Harold Austin and committee consisting of men members of the P.T.A served. Mrs. Maggie Francis made the coffee. Mrs. Orville Smith was mistress of ceremonies. Sengs were directed by Mrs. Barbara Miller with Mr. Cynlhia Magill at the piano. F.ach mother introduced her daughter u der twelve years of age and the daughter over twelve introduced 'her mother. Two trumpet selections by Carol Jo Kahler were accompanied bv Miss Miller. Two selections from the glee club, Harriet Walker, Mar lene Downing, Marta I.il Smith, Darlene Gibson, tla Almond, Carol Skaggs and Barbara Petty, were enjoyed. The evening closed with the song, "Good Night, Ladies." FRIENDLY CIRCLE CLUB PLANS CHRISTMAS PARTY The Friendly Circle club met at the home of Elsie Mills Nov. S, with Persis Vowel, vice president, in charge. Eleven members an swered the roll call. Plans were completed for the annual turkey and potlurk Christ mas party for members and their families.
