They enjoyed a trip to Huckle berry lake and report a fine pick of berries. Mr. and Mrs. Walter I.erwill and daughter, Linda, have moved to Myrtle Creek. They recently completed a new home there on Mr. Lerwill s father s place. . Mr. and Mrs. Warren Tison and children of Roseburg visited with friends Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Patchen of Drain visited over the weekend with friends and made the trip to the huckleberry patch. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Broszio of Wilbur were visiting at the Vern Lerwill home. Mr. and Mrs. William alathews and children; and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Elliott and family motored to Diamond lake and returned by way of the North Umpqua road. Mrs. Clifford Kent's faiher is vis iting her from the East. He will spend a few weeks with her and his other daughter, Mrs. Hamm of Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. William Newton and daughter are guests of the John Tumey family. Mr. .Simison is building a beau tiful ne home on property he re cently purchased from William Howell. Mrs. Eula Rainville fell and se verely injured her leg. At latest report she is greatly improved. School will open Sept. 5. T h e school board met with the faculty Monday evening and plans were made for the coming year. Mrs. Powell of Drew was ap pointed cook for the school pro gram during the coming year. 4-H Livestock Brings Big Prices At K-Falls Sale KLAMATH FALIJ3 .T Live stock on the auction block Tuesday at the conclusion of the annual junior show and sale here brought youthful 4-H and FFA exhibitors I a total of $34,661.12. The grand champion of the show a 20-month-old Hereford steer weighing 1210 pounds sold at $1.15 a pound, bringing Sydney K ;tns, 17, $1,391.50. The Willard Hotel of Klamath Falls was the purchaser. The reserve grand champion Aberdeen-Angus steer, owned by Kathleen Wilson of Malin. went for 65 cents a pound, $708.50. The champion hog sold for $1.95 a pound, bringing owner Roland Biehn $.199.75. The champion sheep. I owned by Margaret Colwell of Oakland Schools Expanded To Meet Increased Roster Oakland school officials have expanded their educational facil ities and augmented teaching staffs in readiness for an increase of about 60 pupils in the combined grade and high school;,. Seven new Icachcri, some o f them replacements for former teachers who have left the school system, will conduct classes i n Oakland for the first time this year. The cafeteria is being en larged to seat twice the former number of patrons. Gilbreath, superinten dent and principal. Gold has been found in 14 of New Mexico's 32 counties. Taylor arn Twin Bruce Infants Die; Funeral Held At Scio Funeral services were held this afternoon at Scio, Ore., for Gary Gene Bruce and Larry Dean Bruce, twin infant sons of Mr. and Mrs. Amon Frank Bruce of Win- enester, who died at Mercy hospi tal Aug. 28 and 29. Surviving besides the parents are the maternal grandparents, M r. and Mrs. M. H. Martin, Scio, and the paternal grandparents, M r. and Mrs. W. J. Bruce, also of Scio.
