Meek escaped to a hill and then through binoculars watched as the enemy forced his buddies to run back and forth across sharp rocks until they fell. At that time Meek said, "pretty soon one of our men fell and the enemy all shot at him and killed him. Pretty soon an other went down and they shot him too."
