Hunsaker Sr., of Sa lem, at the First Methodist church in this city Sunday, July 9. Rev. W. A. MacArthur performed the Impressive ceremony at four-thirty o'clock in the afternoon. A decorated arch and floor bas kets of white gladioli and blue del phinium formed the decorations. Preceding the cermony, the organ selections Alone;" "Always," and "Ave Maria," were played by Mrs. Ethel Minturn, who also accom panied Warren Mack, vocalist, who sang, "Yours Is My Heart Alone," and "Because." The bride, given in marrige by her brother, Henry Flury of Rose burg, was gowned in a heavenly blue lace and net ballerina length dress with matching hat of blue net. She carried blue satin pray er book topped with a stray ot white orchids and tied with a show er of blue satin ribbons knotted with stephanotis. Mrs. Robert N. Thomas A. Williams Medford, was best man and Mor ris Hunsaker, Salem, brother of the bridegroom, and Victor Flury, Roseburg, brother of the bride, were ushers. The bride's mother wore a light cocoa brown sheer crepe and lace dress with black accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a rose crepe dress with white accessor ies. Both mothers wore orchid cor sages. ' A reception followed in the civic room of- the Umpqua hotel. One hundred and seventy-five guests at. tended. The tables were decorated in a blue and white motif and the wedding cake was also decorated in blue and white and topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Henry Flury, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. Dee Hines, sister of the bridegroom, cut the cake, Alternating in pouring were Mrs. Glen R. Miller, Mrs. Harold Jokela, Mrs. Victor Flury, sister-in-law of the -bride; and Mrs. Ross Mounts, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Jake Tompkins, sister of the bridegroom. Serving were Mrs. George Crocker and Miss Betty Ann Harvie. Miss Dorothy Dara cunas was in charge of the guest book. j N . . LAWN PARTY HONORS SUMMER VISITOR AT SINCLAIR HOME Little Lolly Darling of Boise, Ida., was honored at a lawn party Thursday, July 13 at the home of Mrs. George Sinclair. She is spend ing the summer months with her grandmother, Mrs. Lora Darling at Winchester. Games, including a peanut hunt, were enjoyed by the young guests and later refreshments were serv ed. EDYTHE FLORENCE KELLEY VISITED BY PRESIDENT OF IRA OF THE WORLD RECENTLY Mrs. Edythe Florence Kelley of Roseburg had the pleasure of a snort visit recently at ner Home with the International President of Rebekah Assemblies of the World. Mrs. Inez S. Crosby, of Camden, Me. On account of illness. Mrs. Kel ley has not been able to attend As sembly sessions for the last sev eral years. She is the only past In ternational president from the west. Mrs. Kelley, who has been a Rebekah for forty-seven years. was vice-president of the Rebekah Assembly of Oregon in 1922 and president in 1924. She served as international president from 1932 34, at which time she visited Re bekah lodges in every state of the Union. Mrs. Crosby attended the Inter national Assembly session this year in Sacramento and then returned east. She recently came west to attend meetings in Spokane, Wash., and made a special trip to Rose burg for a visit at the home of Mrs. Kelley. Mrs. Fred A. Goff, a past noble grand of Roseburg Rebekah lodge No. 41, joined Mrs. Kelley .ind Mrs. Crosby during the afternoon and presented a lovely bouquet to tne visiting president. COUSINS CELEBRATE BIRTHDAYS JULY IS AT GRANDPARENTS HOME Janna Krueger and Anitra Ka- hananui celebrated their birthdays with a lawn party July 15 at the home of their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Roselund. Janna, who was two years old is the daughter" of Mr. and Mrs. George Krueger and Anitra, who is three, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kahananui of Eugene. The children played games and enjoyed the large playground which includes a wading pool, slides, swings, sandbox and a play house. The honored guests were presented gifts. Refreshments were served at a table decorated with balloons and candy favors. Indi vidual cakes with lighted candles were served. B. Ilolcomb, Fri day, June 28, at the Sutherlin Christian church. Rev. Lloyd Whit ford performed the double-ring cer emony at eight o'clock in the eve ning in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Miss June Young, organist, play ed the wedding marrhes ana ac companied Carol and Dorothy Brin gle, who sang, "Always" and "Be cause." The altar candles were lighted by Miss Patsy Lou Wahl and Mrs, Arlene Hasket, who wore satin gnwns of peach and light green with matching accessories and rose corsages. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was beautiful in a gown of white satin, with long train. N. Currier of Roseburg and David Jacoby, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Jacoby -of Look ingglass. The marriage vows were read by Rev. Mr. Currier and the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Archie Currier. The bride was lovely in a gown of white nylon. organdy fashioned entrain. She carried a hower bou auet of white roses and stephano tis. Her full length veil of import ed illusion which was lace edged fell from a pearl studded coro net. Miss Alta Spencer of Eu gene, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a floor length gown of yellow organdy. Preceding the ceremony M r i. Otis Helman sang, "O Perfect Love" and "I Love Thee' accom panied at Ihe piano by Miss Jo Ann Voorhies, who also played the traditional wedding march and re cessional. Following the ceremony a recept- tion was held in the social room of the church. The large tiered wedding cake topped with -miniature bride and bridegroom was cut by the bride and bridegroom and served by Miss Flora Spencer of Eugene, cousin of the bride. Mrs. Martha Bechtold of Roseburg served the punch. The gut table was cared for by the Misses Lois Swift, Winifred Williams and Dixie Nay and Miss Lorraine Jacoby had charge of the guest book. The re ception was one of the largest ever held in the valley church with members pf the church and con gregation in atetndance. Robert Long, cousin of the -bride from Portland, and William Cranford were ushers. The bride's mother wore white suit with blue accessories and an orchid corsage. The bride's grand mother, Mrs. Luella Allen, wore a two-piece dress of black and white and a carnation corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a gray suit and an orchid corsage. A reception followed in the gar den of the Allen heme on East Third Avenue, with 300 guests present. A smorgasbord was ar ranged and Miss Leuella Pleuard and Miss Lois McNabb, presided over the punch bowl. The bride's table was covered with a lace cloth and was laden with gifts. A three tiered Maltese Cross wedding cake centered the table, The cake was white and topped by a minature bridal couple. The cake was rut by the bridal couple. Following his gradua tion, Mr. Jacoby served in th navy for three years achieving tha rank of electronics technician mat 2 and was stationed during a part of the service in the South Pacific. Mrs. Jacoby served as secretary for the Josse Furniture Company of Roseburg and was later asso ciated with her father in the Rose burg Self Service Laundry.
