A canning club was organized by
the 4-H girls of Elgarose Wednes
day at the home of Charlotte
Sands with her mother Mrs. Zelma
Sands, as leader. Officers ap
pointed are:, president, Donna
Sundberg; vice-president, Gloria
McBroom: secretary. Char
lotte Sands; song leader, Dixie
Wooten; yell leader, Sally Brown,
and reporter, Judy McBroom. A
name for the club will be selected
at the July 7th meeting.

DELENA, Ore. (Columbia Cohn
ty), July 7 t.P) Burns suffered

night were fatal early, today to
Timothy Dicken, SO.
The family home was destroyed.
Mis. Docken and-a seven-year-old
son , Lavern, who received minor
burns, are in the Longview, Wash.,
hospital where Docken died.
Four other children escaped the
flaming home. Dale, a high school
student, was burned slightly in
dragging his father from the house
and beating out the flames on his
clothing.
The explosion occurred mysteri
ously as Docken poured what he
though was only coal on the fire
in the stove.
