Girls Drum-Bugle Corps Planning To Attend Rose Fete An invitation hat been extended the Roseburg Knights of Pythias Girls Drum and Bugle corps to participate in the annual Portland Rose Festival grand floral parade early in June. Bill Black, director of the local group, said today he had received a letter from festival officials as suring Black his corps would be welcome to participate, but add ing that each band entry must ac company a float entered in the parade. A second letter, from the K. of P. Grand Lodge of Oregon head quarters in Portland, assured Blark that his group would be the lone band entry to accompany the state Knights of Pythias Tloat. The letter also promised a night's lodging for the entire corps of 40 girls. In an attempt to meet other ex penses to be incurred during the Portland trip, the girls are selling combination Souvenir pins and pic ture post cards of the band which also celebrates the seventh anni versary of the group. They may be purchased from any member of the corps or at Bill Black's maga zine stand in the Grand hotel lobby. Dr. John L. Haskins, president of the local group, told of the radio roundtable discussion to be aired tonight at 7:45 over KRNR. This program, plus a number of ad dresses before service clubs and other organization given by Vet erans hospital staff members, is intended to publicize the second annual Mental Health week. The third in a series of films depicting parent-child relations was shown the group and portrayed mental ills arising from the feel ing of hostility. A lengthy round table discussion followed the movie. The next meeting was set for May IS in the recreation build ing of the Veterans hospital. Potluck dinner will bt served at noon.
