Women Golfers Set May 16th As Guest-Day Golf Affair Women golfer of the Roseburf Country club met Tuesday at the club and planned to hold the an nual guest-day and two-ball four tome on May 16th. The golf play will begin at nine-thirty o'clock in the morning. Luncheon will be served at twelve-thirty o'clock. Members and their invited guest will enjoy the affair. Reservations must be made in advance by call ing the clubhouse. Mrs. L. E. Mc (.Unlock, captain, presided at the meeting. On May 3rd the Roseburg women golfers will go to Eugene to par ticipate in the WVSO tournament. May 13th is the date of a square dance and box social to be held by the group at the clubhouse. Boxes will be auctioned off. An instructor in square dancing will be present to assist with the affair. Mrs. Roy Cummins was winner of putts in Class A Tuesday morn ing with Mrs. Roger Gee winning in Class B and Mrs. Roy Smith in Class C. Next Tuesday, Class C members will tee off at 10 a m. and Class A will tee off at S:30. There will be no further class instruction until June 6, when a new class for beginner golfers will be started. Marcell and Mrs. Worth Davis were honored at t double pink and blue shower Thurs day evening of last week at the Morris Bowker residence on South Main street. Hostess were Mrs. Bernard Saar and Mrs. Bowker. Tiny individual baisinetts formed the decorative theme for i the tables and camellias were used about the rooms. Dessert at 7:30 w'clock was followed by bridge and canasta Mrs. Clair K. Allen held high at bridge and Mrs. Charles Hart high at canasta. DOUGLAS COUNTY PTA DELEGATES TO ATTEND OREGON CONGRESS Douglas county will be well-represented at the Oregon Congress ol Parents and Teachers in Port land the coming week. Mrs. Ken neth Bushey, president of the Doug las County Council of Parents and Teachers heads a large list of delegates from the county schools. CRADLE ROLL PARTY GIVEN THURSDAY AT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH The Junior Division of the First Christian church entertained the members of the Cradle Roll de partment and their mothers with a party in the church parlors Thursday evening. The rooms were decorated with pink and blue colors and a minia ture carriage of tweet peas was used for centerpiece. Mrs. Curtit Hester was in charge of the pro gram which was opened with a song by the group and prayer by Mrs. Kenneth Knox. Two piano numbers and two readings were given.
