EDEN LADIES AID PLANS HAM DINNER Plans for a ham dinner to be held Friday, April 28 were made Tuesday afternoon at the meeting of Eden Ladies Aid of Kdrn Luthern church at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Bloomquist. The dinner will be held at the church with serving from 6.30 un til 8.30 p.m. Rev. Willis Krickson was in charge of devolions at the meet ing. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Clifford Smith, 1110 Rainbow street, Roseburg, April 18. Attending were Mr. and Mrs C. L. VICTORY CIRCLE TO HOLD MEETING THURSDAY Victory circle of the First Bap tist church will meet at the home of Viletta West in Laurclwood. SIXTH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED RECENTLY Pamela Arnold was honored on her birthday recently at the home of her parents. A group of boys and girjs enjoyed the birthday party. Cakes were decorated to represent Easter nests with cand les and tiny Easter eggs inter mingled. Present were Judy Defferding, Betty Moodie. Betty Spencer, Wy nma Pasco, Cheryl Dunham, June Lee Hcilman, Teddy Mae Heil mnn and Linda Meeks. The following mothers attended: Mrs. Carl Moodie, Mrs. Lee Wil son, Mrs. William Meeks, Mrs. Kenneth Dunham, Mrs. Ted Heil man and the hostess, Mrs. Eugene Arnold. Roseburg, Oregon PHONE 1055 One of the largest social events held recently at South Deer Creek grange was a pink and blue shower for Mrs. Rita Smith when mothers of Camp F'ire Girls, Boy Scouts and friends honored her. The room was decorated with can dles and flowers carrying out the pink and blue motif. Chairman of the affair was Mrs. Dale Hatfield assisted by Mrs. J. M. Adair, Mrs. Don Leverich, Mrs. Lynn Beckley, Mrs. Betty Brauch. Games were in charge of Mrs. Bud Karcher. A large stork was arranged on a table with the gifts. At the close of the evening refreshments were served by the hostesses assisted by the Camp Fire Girls. The honored guest received gifts from the Mesdames Opal Phillips, Bernice Smith, Kathryn Karcher, Jerry Church, Gertrude Anderson, S. W. Van Voorst. LAZY DAISY CLUB TO HOLD ALL-DAY MEETING The Lazy Daisy club will hold an all-day meeting Thursday be ginning at eleven o'clock in the morning at the home of Mrs. Don Carlson. A potluck luncheon will be held at noon. All members are asked to be present. Ctramenlal Hald Massasoit Camp Fire group held a council fire at Riverside school, March 16 at which time their honor beads were awarded and they re ceived recognition for passing of rank. The impressive ceremonial was attended by mothers of the mem bers. Eight candles surrounding a large painted trail seekers' charm symbol were lighted to honor the members who passed their first rank. Corsages were presented to these girls by Mrs. Mehlhoff, a member of the sponsoring committee. They were janei Lewis, jacxiyn warren, Pat Niday, I.aVelle Gladwill. Mollie Wilcox, Kathleen Tripp, Trunette Phillips and Connie Bridgess. Later a tea, hour honored the girls and their mothers. The tables were decorated with daffodils and candles. Refreshments made by the girla were served to Lila Dudley. Trunette Tripp, Ixis Wiggington, Helen White, I.aVelle Gladwill. ,'al Niday. Janet Lewis, Jacklyn War ren, Millie Wilcox, Judy Riley, San dra Platter, Connie Bridgess, Shir ley Bispham and the guardian, Mrs. Hazel Gladwill. Mothers at tending included the Mesdames Warren, Lewis, Niday, Poore, Tripp, Mehlhoff, Osterman, Johan son, Riley, Bridgess, Phillips, Glad will, Philips and Ladd. Group Activities Varied Activities of the Massasoit Camp Fire group during the past two I months has included many activi ties. The girls based most of their projects on the 19.r)0 Birthday proj ect entitled "Discoveries Unlim ited." The list included: made pin up purses shaped like cross logs and flame; visited Roseburg Animal Hospital: entertained W o e e m e girls with song fest and refresh ments, attended Father-Daughter banquet, entertained at Veterans hospital with George Washington program, took part in music festi val at Benson school, held candy sale, attended church services at St. Joseph's church, held council fire, attended Presbyterian church services, and sang special number, took part in window display at Church's Drug store, participated in program, "Camp Fire Story" singing "The Boating Song," at tended flower show and enjoyed hike gathering nature articles to begin terranium for group, which was completed and displayed in school room.
