Celebrate Golden Wedding With Family r i MMWWBassWan MDimhrniiV (7 Mr. and Mn. Charley S. Olson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at a most enjoyable family affair March 12, at the at tractive home of their son-in-law and daughter. Dr. and Mrs. A.N. Johnson, with whom they reside. Gorgeous bouquets of flowers and colorful potted plants formed the decorations. The entire family with the ex ception of one son, Harold A. Ol son, and his family, attended. Har old Olson resided on the original family farm at Detroit Lakes, Minn. Members of the family with Mr. and Mrs. Olson on their golden wedding day included their daugh- Mr. and Mrs. Charley S. 01 MX ter, Mrs. M. J. Blais of Loma Linda, Calif; their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Milton C. Olson and sons, Robert and Jim, of Blair, Nebr; their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mr. Henry R. Olson and son, Howard, of Para dise, Calif; their daughter, Mrs. Ray Moore daughter, Joan, of Port, land, Ore., and their son-in-law and daughter. Dr. and Mrs. A. N. Johnson, Roseburg. An enjoyable feature of the day's program was the1 reading of the original poem, "Life and History of the Honored Couple" by their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Hen ry R. Olson. Movies were taken of the group. Plcturo bjr ProertcHono Photo Lak Mr. and Mrs. Olson were mar ried March 12, 1900, in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and where Mr. Ol son engaged in farming until 1941, when they moved to Roseburg to reside with Dr. and Mrs. Johnson. The members of the family ar rived here last Friday and re mained over the golden wedding, with the exception of Dr. Milton C. Olson and his family, who visit ed here until Thursday, when they left for their home in Nebraska. Both Mr. and Mrs. Olson enjoy excellent health. Friends of the couple wish them continued good health and happiness in the years ahead. Mr. and Mrs. George Dimmick were delightfully surprised Monday evening at their home on South Main street, when a group of friends called to celebrate their for tieth wedding anniversary'. Beauti ful gifts and flowers and a large wedding cake were presented to the Dimmlcks. In addition to Mr. and Mrs. Dim mick and the latter's mother, Mrs. Nannie Thompson, those present were Mr. Dimmick's two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Dimmick and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Dimmick; and his brother, Ziba Dimmick, and Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. High, Mrs. Joseph Kloberdanz, Mrs. Frank Poole and Mrs. Merle Winn Cards were in play during the so cial hours and later lovely refresh ments were served. ELEANORS CARLSON ELECTED PRESIDENT OP XI EPSILON CHAPTER Dr. Eleanore Carlson was elect ed president of Xi Epsilon chapter, Beta Sigma Phi at a meeting Tues day night at the home of Mrs. Ray Brown. Other new officers include: vice-president, Mrs. George Lu oma; secretary, Mrs. C. E. Hart; treasurer, Mrs. R. W. Tozier; rep resentative, Mrs. M. C. Bowker, and alternate, Mrs. Ray Brown. The Tweet Bluebird group, spon sored by the chapter, presented a program of songs and thanked the chapter for helping with parties. Those present were Sharon Jef feris, Lori Hayes, Beverly Myers, Majorie Wittrock, Carolyn. Was som, Yvonne Parkinson, Joanne Voss, Deni Kent, Bonnie Sween and Mary Lou Rentier. Mrs. C. D. Par kinson is leader ol the group. Members of the chapter enjoying the evening with Mrs. Brown were: Mrs. Worth Davis, Mrs. J. R. Whar ton, Mrs. Joseph Wikoff, Mrs. Sid ney Moon, Mrs. E. F. Marceil, Mrs. C. E. Hart, Dr. Eleanore Carlson and Mrs. R. W. Toiler. Mrs. Brown served lovely re freshments later in the evening. The St. Patrick's motif was car ried out in the decorations. The next meeting will be March 28 at a potluck supper at the home of Dr. Eleanore Carlson. JOELSON-STEVENS DESSERT SUPPER GIVEN FRIDAY FOR ZULEIMA CLUB MEMBERS Mrs. John Joelson and Mrs. H. M. Stevens were co-hostesses at a seven-thirty o'clock dessert-supper Friday evening at the charming new home of the former for mem bers of the Zuleima club, Daugh ters of the Nile. ROARK ENTERTAIN FRIENDS SATURDAY EVENING Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Roark of Beacon Way entertained a group of friends Saturday evening. Daffo dils graced the serving table. Canasta and pinochle were in play with high prize for canasta going to Mrs. George Felt and low to Frank Paul. Miss Jones is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Jones of Oakland and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mra Art Daugherty, also of Oakland. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mm. Frank Williams of Newhall, Calif. A reception followed with Miss Naoma Murdork of Roseburg as sisting Mrs. Dunn in serving the wedding cake. TWENTY-FIFTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OCCASION FOR EVENING CELEBRATION Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wiseman of Tiller celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Paris near Canyonville Saturday even ing. The honored couple received gifts and 25 silver dollars. The pre sentations were made by Mrs. Weseman't only brother, Lawrence Michaels. MISS JANICE PLUMMER IS PIANO SOLOIST AT MOTHER'S DAY TEA SUNDAY Miss Janice Plummer. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Plummer, luai Winchester street. Kosebura. was piano soloist at the Mother'a day tea Sunday afternoon in the lounge of the new women's dormi tory at Lewis and Clark college In Portland. The tea climaxed a series of so cial events planned by all women'! organizations for Mother's week end on the campus. Miss Plummer is a freshman at Lewis and Clark and Is majoring in music. She is pledged to Theta Kappa sorority. She was formerly a piano pupil of Miss Gladys H. Strong and an organ pupil of Mrs. Homer W. Grow in Roseburg. She is continuing her piano study with Mrs. Margaret Notz Steinmetz and plans to continue organ study with Dr. John Stark Evans at Lewis and Clark. Her mother, Mrs. Earl Plummer, was in Portland for the weekend festivities as well as Mrs. E. R. Buckingham, of Roseburg, who was the guest of her daughter.
