Mr and Mrs. Dennis O'Nell and
Dick Bruce, who had visited in
Roseburg for several weeks, left
Saturday for their borne in Anchor,
age, Alaska. From Roseburg th7
also made a trip to Phoenix, Ariz.
O'Neil and Bruce drove from
Alaska to the states, making the
trip In about six days. Mra. O'Neil
had tade the trip earlier by plane.
Road conditions on the Alcan high
way were reported very good.
O'Neil aaid tourist courts were
available all the way and no chains
were used the entire trip. Worst
road conditions were encountered
from Mullan. Ida., to Couer
d'Alene.
Anyone planning to make the trip
to Alaska will be interested, ac
cording to the visitors, to find that
the Alcan highway ia In near-perfect
condition. Road crews are
starting to blacktoo the road. The
paved road enda about 40 miles
north of Edmonton, Alta. If one
leaves Oregon the middle of June
long days and good weather will be,
encountered in Alaska. Bus service
in available to points in Alaska
once a week from the states.
