She was graduated from Rose burg high school and Oregon State college with high honors and has received considerable recognition for her outstanding work. Her leave of absence was granted by the State board. WOMAN'S SOCIETY HAS LUNCHEON MEETING AT BAPTIST CHURCH THURSDAY Helen Hunt circle members were hostesses at a one o'clock uncheon for the Woman's Society of the First Baptist church Thursday in the church parlors. Mrs. Harry F. Hatfield, prest dent, conducted the meeting, which opened by group singing of two hymns. Mrs. Bud Hagar presented the devotions on "Love," from Cor. 1, 13th chap ter. Mrs. H. P. Sconce led n prayer and Mrs. Louie Moreno and Mrs. Maude Doughty hart charge of the missionary pro gram entitled, "Missions in the Bible. Assisting on tne program were: Mrs. Calvin Balrd, Mrs. May Crawford, Mrs. Charles walker, Mrs. Mae Byrd, Mrs. J G. Stephenson, Mrs. Harry F. Hatlleld and Mrs. Bua Hagar. Mrs. Sconce gave a talk on the National Christian Teaching Mis sion to start in Roseburg Feb. 2, and continue through- Feb. 3. Mrs. James Ritchie closed the meeting by prayer. The next meeting will be Feb. 16. at a one o'clock luncheon in the church parlors with members of Alice Thayer circle as Host esses.
