and daughter, Gertrude, and Mr.

Glide Grange hall.
The Schosso and Hammond
families are moving to Tenmile
soon to make their homes. All

HAS ENJOYABLE
MEETING AT POTLUCK
Mary-Martha club of the Suth
erlin Christian church met Frl
day In the East wing of the
church with Mrs. Effie Dickens
and Mrs. Bertha Sanders as host
esses. A potluck dinner was en
joyed at noon. The tables were
very attractive with center pieces
ol miniature camp scenes.
Devotionals and the business
meeting were presided over hy
Mrs. Jean Barnes, president.
Patty Thames gave the opening
prayer. Roll call was answered
with scripture verses. Minutes of
last meeting were read and ap
proved and the treasurer's re
port was given. Mrs. Blanche
Hecathorn resigned as work
chairman and Mrs. Laura Web
ber was elected to take her place.
It was decided to ask the
church members and friends to
donate clothing to be sent to Oki
nawa along with the baby cloth
ing members have been working
on. Buttons, thread and soap will
also be included. A communi
catjon from Mr. and Mrs. Harlan
Woodruff, Christian Church Mis
sionaries, on Okinawa, was read.
Mrs. Lloyd Whit ford was in
charge of the devotional lesson,
choosing as her subject "A Vir
tuous Woman," from Proverbs
31:10-31.
The next meeting of Mary-Mar-rha
club will be a picnic Friday,
August 19.

AERIE TO HOLD POTLUCK
SUPPER TUESDAY NIGHT
Following the regular meetings
of the Eagles auxiliary and aerie
next Tuesday night. August 23,
a potluck supper will be held at
the. hall. Women attending are
asked to bring a covered dish.
The Eagles auxiliary has plan
ned an all-day rummage sale to
be held September 3, at the Epis
copal parish hall on East Cass
street. Those having donations to
be picked up are asked to con
tact Mrs. Myrtle Dage.

LODGE HAS INTERESTING
MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT
The Rosebure- Rebekah lodge.
No. 11, met in regular session
at the I.O.O.F. Hall on Tuesday
with the Noble Grand. Mary Al
ice Mnrtensen. and Vice-Grand,
Golda Nickell presiding. The only
officer pro tem was Ruth Pluiner
as inside guardian.
Mrs. Stella M. Fennell of
Friendship Rebekah lodge at El-
ma, Washington, was Introduced
ana welcomed, other guests In
cluded her daughter. Miss Fen
nell, of the Sweethome lodge and
Mrs. Kiapp o: the Medford lodge.
Thirty-two members were present..
The application of Mrs. Elaine
senes lor reinstatement was ac
cepted. Miss May Wolfe was ad
mitted by transfer.
. New commissions were read
appointing Mrs. Louise Dimmick
Advisor, and Mrs. Minnie South
Assistant Advisor to Alpha Zeta
Theta Rho club which is sponsor
ed bv the local lodge.
Due to illness Mrs. Thella Web
ber submitted her resignation as
degree staff captain. Mrs. Lena
Poole and Mrs. Ethel Bailey ac
cepted the election as co-captains.
Practice will continue as
scheduled at 7:30 p.m. every
Wednesday night. All members
participating in Mrs, Webber's
start were requested to retain
their places on the staff.
One application for member-
snip was received.
Mrs. Elsie Russell has been
appointed chairman of the cards
and flowers committee. Anv
member knowing of another
members illness should report
same to Mrs. Russell by calling
The lodge voted to "adopt" a
resident of the fraternal home
for special remembrance on
birthdays, Christmas, or other
occasions. A name will be re
quested from the matron of the
home.

sides with Mary Alice Mortensen
and Golda Nickell as captains.

in the chaplains charge was told
by Ethel Bailey In a manner for
the members to Identify. Mrs.
Poole and Mrs. South exempli
fied the tableau in connection
therewith.
The next meeting will be held
at the I.O.O.F. Hall at 8 p.m.

will honor all Past Noble Grands
and they are especially request
ed to attend. Invitation Is al.-o
extended to all visiting Past No
ble Grands and members in the
city to attend. Refreshments will
be served by Faye Jensen. Agnes

After the close of the lodge

Michael Pellerln of Bellflower,
Calif., visited in Sutherlin for a
few days this week at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson
and also with Mr. and Mrs. Art
Hansen at Wilbur. Mr. Pellerin
is an old friend of the Johnsons.

Show, sponsored by the Asso
ciated Business Women's elub
has been announced as Satur
day, Aug. 27, at tho school gym.
It is to be an all-day affair and
