Phone 121 MARY-MARTHA CLUI HAS ENJOYABLE MEETING AT POTLUCK Mary-Martha club of the Suth erlin Christian church met Frl day In the East wing of the church with Mrs. Effie Dickens and Mrs. Bertha Sanders as host esses. A potluck dinner was en joyed at noon. The tables were very attractive with center pieces ol miniature camp scenes. Devotionals and the business meeting were presided over hy Mrs. Jean Barnes, president. Patty Thames gave the opening prayer. Roll call was answered with scripture verses. Minutes of last meeting were read and ap proved and the treasurer's re port was given. Mrs. Blanche Hecathorn resigned as work chairman and Mrs. Laura Web ber was elected to take her place. It was decided to ask the church members and friends to donate clothing to be sent to Oki nawa along with the baby cloth ing members have been working on. Buttons, thread and soap will also be included. A communi catjon from Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Woodruff, Christian Church Mis sionaries, on Okinawa, was read. Mrs. Lloyd Whit ford was in charge of the devotional lesson, choosing as her subject "A Vir tuous Woman," from Proverbs 31:10-31. Due to illness Mrs. Thella Web ber submitted her resignation as degree staff captain. Mrs. Lena Poole and Mrs. Ethel Bailey ac cepted the election as co-captains. Practice will continue as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday night. All members participating in Mrs, Webber's start were requested to retain their places on the staff.
