Deal No Damage
City firemen were called out
on two grass fires and a false
alarm Tuesday afternoon and an
other false alarm this morning,
Fire Chief William Mills report
ed today.
Two bovs freely admitted to
Chief Mills that they had set the
grass fire on Third and Hollis
streets at 2:55 p.m. yesterday by
playing with matches. Firemen
were able to put out the blaze
before any damage was caused.
Another grass fire at 114 Chest

damage, Chief Mills said.
the two false alarms resulted
in nothing more than exercise
for tne firemen, although fires
had been burning in both cases,
Chief Mills said. The grass fire
was out on Eden Lane on the
Garden Valley road when fire
men arrived at 4:10 p.m. yester-
aay.
At 8:10 this morning, firemen
received a call for a Vine street
blaze but reported the resident
had been burning with a permit
and the fire was brought under
control shortly after firemen ar
rived. A flue fire called out two citv
fire trucks and a full load of
firemen and volunteers this morn
