His base is Weisbaden, 25 miles from Frank furt. His first flight on the airlift was July 8, when his plane car ried 19,580 pounds of sacked coal. The Germans load and unload the supplies. He flies all but three dnys a month. He left the United States by plane June 30 and ar rived In Frankfurt 17 hours la ter. His wife and their two chil dren, Judith Ann and Robert Nicholas, are making their home with her parents In Yakima, Wash. Visits Here Rev. W. C. Lewis, pastor of the First Methodist church at Washington, Ark., spent the weekend In Roseburg as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rapp on West Mosher street. Rev. Mr. Lewis had come to Roseburg to visit the grave of his daughter, Lois Goodwin, who died December 21, 1945. Mr. and Mrs. Rapp and family took him to Coos Bay the first of the week, where he will spend the week visiting his niece, Mrs. William Jenkinson, and family. Batch Of Fires Deal No Damage City firemen were called out on two grass fires and a false alarm Tuesday afternoon and an other false alarm this morning, Fire Chief William Mills report ed today. Two bovs freely admitted to Chief Mills that they had set the grass fire on Third and Hollis streets at 2:55 p.m. yesterday by playing with matches. Firemen were able to put out the blaze before any damage was caused. Another grass fire at 114 Chest nut street also resulted in no damage, Chief Mills said. the two false alarms resulted in nothing more than exercise for tne firemen, although fires had been burning in both cases, Chief Mills said. The grass fire was out on Eden Lane on the Garden Valley road when fire men arrived at 4:10 p.m. yester- aay. At 8:10 this morning, firemen received a call for a Vine street blaze but reported the resident had been burning with a permit and the fire was brought under control shortly after firemen ar rived.
