William Kettlitz in ' the Presbyterian Church at Inde pendence, Iowa, Miss Beatrice A. Frye, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman S. Fyre, became the bride of Loy E. Crain, son of J. R. Crain of Grand Junction, Colo. Two-hundred guests attended the wedding. Four seven branch candelabra holding tall white tapers and large baskets of white peonies and syringa decorated the sanctu ary. Mrs. Arda Davis played the organ music and accompanied Mrs. Beldon Lemons, who sang, "Because," and "The Lord's Prayer." The bride was charming in a gown of white slipper satin fash ioned with a full court train. The sleeves came to a point at the wrists and the neckline was a round marquisette yoke trimmed with imported lace. Her veil of illusion was held in place with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and sweetpeas centered with pink roses. Mrs. Glen A. Rogers of Percival, Iowa, was matron of honor for her sister and wore a gown of or chid marquisette over taffeta with matching tiara and mitts. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Miss Betty Flickinger, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid( and wore a gown of pale pink with matching tiara and mitts. She carried a bouquet of deep pink roses. Norman S. Frye Jr., brother of the bride was best man and Orlo Naugle of Greeley, Colo., nephew of the bridegroom, was grooms man. Ushers were Glen A. Rogers of Percival, Iowa; Dr. Milton Flickinger, Washington, la., Joe E. Mumaw, Jesup, la., and Warner Frye, Independence, la. The three-tiered cake, deco rated with pink hearts and syringa blossoms, centered the table. Tall tapers and garden flowers completed the decorations. Assisting were Mrs. Alfred Frye and Mrs. Ed Rochau of Davenport; Mrs. W. Ted White of Chicago; Mrs. Avery Tucker of Oelwein; Mrs. Norman Frye Jr., of Independence; Mrs. Richard Higgins of Mt. Pleasant, Miss Eileen Gerdes of Independence and Mrs. Leland Bunge of Ames, la. Following a honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Crain are now at home to their friends at Mountain View Homes, Housley Street, Roseburg. The bride was graduated from Independence, la., High School and attended Iowa State Teach ers College and University of Iowa. She has been teaching in Denver, Colo., the last year. The bridegroom was graduated from the State College of Education at Greeley, Colo., and is principal of Benson School in Roseburg. , Mrs. Crain was honored at sev eral showers by relatives and friends prior to her marriage. Six girl friends entertained at a mis cellaneous shower in her honor the evening of May 27 in Denver. On the afternoon of June 8, Mrs. Norman Frye entertained at a shower at her home In Independ ence, uames were piayea ana lovely eifts were presented to the guest of honor, after which re freshments were served. The Fri day evening preceding the .wed ding, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Frye Sr., entertained at a dinner in honor of the bridal couple. Covers were placed for 14 guests. EDEN LADIES AID HAS NO-HOSTESS MEETING TUESDAY The Eden Ladles Aid of the Elgarose Lutheran Church held a no-hostess meeting at the church Tuesday evening. The president, Mrs. Carl Lundeen, conducted the business session and presented the devotions. During the social hour lovely refreshments were served to Mrs. Leora Andrews, Mrs. Lee Brown, Mrs. Carl E. Johnson and daugh ter, Henrietta; Mrs. Carl Back lund, Mrs. Nelda Sand, Mr. and Mrs. John Hulsebus, Mrs. Emily Hargesheimer and daughter; Mrs. O. MIXED FOURSOME GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD ON JULY 4TH A mixed foursome golf tourna ment will be held by members of the Roseburg Country Club Mon day, July 4, at three-thirty o'clock at the club course, followed by a buffet supper for members and tneir invited guests, those at tending are asked to bring their Fourth or July fireworks. Din ners will be served at the club by the caterer, Lee Sharman, over Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Kenneth Bailey, vice-president, had charge of the meeting ol the women ol the ciud inurs- day, at which time plans were made for the women golfers and members to go to Coos Bay, July 17, and for entertaining the Med ford women in Roseburg on July 24. Coffee will be served at nine thirty o'clock in the morning, fol lowed oy contract ondge, noon luncheon and golfing in the after noon, l he Koseburg members will also entertain the Cottage Grove women in the near future, the date of which will be announced later. . Golfing was enjoyed during the morning with prizes being award ed on blind holes, 7-5 and 3 to Mrs. Ivan Pickens and Mrs. Wal ter Brydges, who tied in Class A, and to Mrs. G. W. Marshall, Class B. ARTS AND CRAFTS CLUB HAS DELIGHTFUL MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT The Arts and Crafts Club met Tuesday evening at the attrac tive home of Mrs. Kenneth Ford in Laurelwood with Mrs. Pat Johnson, co-hostess. The business meeting was fol lowed by a report on Picassio and pictures of art by modern artists. Plans were made for a potluck dinner to be held July 19th at the home of Miss Gerry Fett with Mrs. H. C. Berg, co-chairman. The committee will contact all mem bers of the club regarding the af fair at a later date. Reports will be made by those attending the Portland Art Museum exhibit. Club was enter- tained Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Ella Lenox on Corey Avenue witn Mrs. Mamie Fett, Mrs. Louise Young, Mrs. Virginia Marr and Mrs. Mamie Hudnell assisting hostesses at a delightful seven-thirty o'clock dessert-supper. Mrs. Florence Klatt, recently ot Medford, was initiated into mem bership. Dame was honored at a charming bridal shower nartv at. the Kenneth Bushev residence. Sweetpeas formed the flower decorations for the rooms, while the dining table was lovely with a lace cloth and centered with a beautifully decorated cake in honor of "Joe and Carolyn," silver candelabra and coffee service at one end and a minia ture bride and bridegroom at the other end. A table to one side was cleverly decorated with a pink and green parasol, under which the gifts were hidden. Those honoring Mrs. Dame in cluded Donna Bushcy, Minnie Kobernik, Jeanne Miles, Connie Augustus, Betty Brannon, Jeanne Augustus, Mrs. Kenneth Bushey, Mrs. Arthur Kobernik and Mrs. T. Augustus.
