DUNN WED IN ASHLAND ASHLAND Miss Etna Davis, daughter of Mrs. Achsah E. Davis, 537 East Main street, Ashland, and Kenneth W. Dunn, son of Mrs, Howard N. Dunn of Junction City, were married at the First Church of Christ In Ashland on Thurs day, June 9. The Rev. Earl Downing read the double-ring ceremony. Tiie bride, given In marriage by her brother, wore a traditional gown of while satin. Her lace- edged fingertip veil was held in place by a bandeau of white stephanotls and she carried a bouquet of pink gladioli and stephanotls. Miss Louise Wood, Portland, as maid of honor, was dressed in pink net and carried white gladioli. The flower girl was Joyce Ivor- son, and Howard White, nephew of Ihe bride, was ring bearer. Philip Dunn, brother ol the bride groom, acted as best man. Ushers were Charles A. White and Jacob P. Lahr, brothers-in-law of Ihe bride. Mrs. Thelma Glmberllng. Rose burg. was pianist. She played the wedding marcnes and accompa nied Arden Hall, who sang. Candle lighters were Mrs. Monroe E. Davis, sister-in-law of Ihe bride, and Mrs. Loring Martin, the bride's cousin. Both wore light blue gowns. The church was decorated with white gladioli, white peonies and other flowers, along with candel abra. For the wedding, Mrs. Davis wore a blue silk dress, and the, bridegroom's mother wore a suit of light blue. Both wore gardenias. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the church parlor, which had been decorated bv Miss Louise Wood. Roses and candelabra centered the bride's table. Mrs. Charles A. White, sister of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Ted Ward and Mrs. Ed Mc Lain, cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. M. F. Bergerson and Mrs. Merle Gimberling poured and Mrs. Jacob P. Lahr, sister of the bride, took charge of the guest book. The bride is a graduate of Sams Valley hint! school and of South ern Oregon college and for the past 10 years has taugnt, me last five In Roseburg at the Rose school. The bridegroom attended Oregon Stale college and is now with Pacific Greyhound lines. Guests included Mrs. Howard N. Dunn of Junction City, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Dunn and Mrs. Fran ces Moffet of Springfield, Mrs. Merle Gimberling, Mrs. M. T. Bereerson and Mr. and Mrs. ai- ford France of Roseburg, Mis. Sam Redding, Dallas Redding and Mrs. Gordon Stanley of Eagle Point, Mrs. William Bishop of Central Point and Mrs. Norma Miller of Medford. Children under 6, .30 1 Riversdale grange Riversdale Grange men are spending this afternoon and the early evening hours cleaning the grounds, after which the ladies of the Grange will serve a seven o'clock dinner. Regular Grange meeting was held Friday night at the hall with the Overseer, Myron Lehne, pre siding in the absence of the Mas ter, Lester Spencer, who was at the slate convention at Coos Bay. There were 40 members present and the four visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Armour of Alpine Grange, Prineville. Calif., and Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Rogan of South Deer Creek Grange. Mr. Armour, who Is master of Alpine Grange, gave a talk, Ray Deadman reported on measures brought up at the state convention., The Grange voted on a candidate and submitted a pro posal for membership for another to the committee in charge. The third and fourth degrees were conferred on Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Johnanson. The Home Eco nomic Chairman reported the next meeting will be held at the Healy home. Social night will be held by the Grange Saturday evening. June 25, at the hall. Mr. and Mrs. George Ostcrman and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Schneider will be in charge. The lecturer's program was In charge of Mrs. Anita Stark. A contest was held and the three men not knowing the license num ber of their own car included Myron Lehne. C. T. Tipton and Mr. Dailey, who as a result pre sented a stunt for the entertain ment of the members and guesls. Women of the Grange present ed a mirror for the men's room and new tools for clean-up day. The next regular grange meet ing will be at 8:15 the evening of July 1 at the hall with Mr. and Mrs. Graham Ewens, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Moore, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ott and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Spray. (AI President Truman Monday signed a bill setting up statutory operating authority for Ihe super secret central intelligence agency. The measure writes into law procedures Ihe agency has been using, including hiring and budget practices not heretofore allowed by law. " The bill allows the agency to bring Into this country everv year up to 100 aliens who have-helped U. S. Intelligence operatives abroad.
