Sheriffs Posse Not Going To Rose Festival The Douglas County Sheriff's Posse will not be represented in the Portland Rose Festival. Sheriff O. T. "Bud" Carter said today that the close schedule with the Rodeo coming up June 17, 18 and 19, and the fact the posse went to Lebanon's Strawberry Festival last weekend make It impossible for the posse to go to Portland this year. Plans had been made to enter a rose-covered car in which Ro deo Queen Nadene Sparks was to ride, but this has also been can celed, since the Rose Festival Committee required that at least S2.000 be spent on any float entry.
