U. S. Halts Further Removal Of Japanese Plants As War Payments WASHINGTON, May 13 UP) The United States Thursday or dered a halt in further removals of Japanese plants as war repa rations. Maj. Gen. Frank R. McCoy, the American representative, told the ll-nation Far Eastern Commis sion that even industrial plants classed as "primary war facili ties" are needed by Japan to has ten its economic recovery. About Grip Of Boy, 5, Saves Him In Fall Over Cliff PITTSBURGH, May 13. W) Five-year-old Jimmy Lardo can thank his lucky stars he has a strong grip for a little boy. Jimmy slipped while walking along the top of a 60-foot cliff Wednesday. His fall was broken by a small tree and Jimmy clung to it for dear life. Firemen . were summoned but were unable to negotiate the steep slope to reach the youngster. An extension ladder was then brought to the scene and run up to the top of the cliff. Two firemen car ried Jimmy to safety. The firemen said Jimmy re mained as "cool as a cucumber" during his ordeal. The estimated number of ma chines in the U.
