Sconce perform ed the Impressive ceremony in the presence of relatives and close friends of the couple. The bride wore a street dress of white with black accessories and a corsage of gardenias and pink rosebuds. Miss Carolyn Kobernik was maid of honor and wore a gray suit with black accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds and carnations. Dick Roper, brother of the bride, was best man. The tiered wed ding cake, topped by a miniature bride and bridegroom, graced the center of the beautifully appoint ed table. The cake was cut by the bridal couple and served by Mrs. Charles Sommerfeld. The couple are now at home to their friends on Patterson street. The bride was graduated from High School In Pueblo, Colo., and is now employed as a cashier at the Roseburg Safeway store. The bridegroom received his education in Couer d' Alene, Ida., and follow ing his discharge from service with the U. S. Marines, he came to Roseburg, where he is engaged in the lumber Industry. Guest at the meeting was Miss Berta Howell, regional field ad visor who spent two days in Rose burg last week conferring with the Camp Fire Council and guar dians. She talked on the national birthday project, program mate rial for groups and various other problems which confront both new and old guardians. Plans were discussed for a Father-Daughter banquet to be held at the Methodist church basement, Feb. 25, at 6 p. m. Rev. W. A. MacArthur will be guest speaker. It would increase state aid to schools from $50 to $95 per year for each school child, or from a total of $17,000,000 a year to $32, 000.000. But the committee members sald'that didn't mean they would vote for the bill. They just agreed to introduce it to get it printed. Some committee members said they didn't like the idea at all. Putnam told the committee $75,000,000 muftt be spent in Ore gon in the nxt five ye Am to bring Oregon schools up to stand' ard. The bill also would set up a $2,000,000 annual fund to help poor districts construct new build ings. Discrimination Against Women Medics Charged POIITLAND; Jan. 29. - (.P) The president of the Oregon State Medical Association herself a woman accused the University of Oregon Medical School of dis criminating against women and set off an argument today. Dr. Leslie Kent. Eucene Dhvsl- cinn who took over Ihe Associa tion presidency last year, declared that the Medical School discrimi nates by offering no internships for women graduates.
