ASTUTE IS THIS TRIO (Ml A .iA 1ti t Mrs. Armilda Hess, Roseburg Resident For 62 Years, Dies Armilda J. Hess, 89, resident ot Roseburg for 62 years, died after a lingering illness Dec. 11. She was born July 13, 1859 in Eagle Village, Ind.. and was mar ried to Clarkson VV. Hess in 1877. They moved to Roseburg 62 years ago and she has resided here ever since. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Roseburg for 52 years and also a mem ber of the Neighbors of Wood craft, Roseburg. She was pre ceded In death by her husband in 1932. Surviving are two sons, G. H. Hess, Ashland, and Clarence W. Hess, Roseburg; a daughter, Mrs. J. T. Miller, Roseburg; a grand daughter, Mrs. Chas. Strilzuk, and a great granddaughter, Bon nie Strilzuk, both of Eugene. Funeral services will be held In the chapel of the Roseburg Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 2 p. m., with the Rev. Recent action of the Reedsport City Council in changing parking regulations of Rainbow Plaza to allow curb parking on one side of the street Instead of center parking, as in the pas', has aroused considerable criticism, especially from residents of an apartment nouse on tne street ai- lected by the cnange. Protests were based cnictly on motorists allowing iheir motors to run for long periods late at night and early in the morning, and other violations that are "greater nuisances" during the night. Delegations are expected to attend the next council meet ing to protest the change.
