Plummer, vice-president of the Roseburg Kiwanis Club the past year, was elected to the jffiee of president, to suc ceed M. M. "Red" Nelson at the annual election Tuesday in the Hotel Umpqua. David J. McCarroll was elected first vice-president without op position, and a flip of the coin gave Maurice J. Newland the of fice of second vice-president over James Slattery. When the ballots were counted an equal number of votes were registered for each candidate. The two men decided the issue by the coin flip. George Luoma was elected treasurer without opposition. Phen 446 Seal Sale Opens To Fight TB In Coming Year This week marks thj opening of the 42nd annual Christmas seal sale to raise funds for local and state tuberculosis control pro grams for the coming year. In Oregon some 3.000 organiza tions are taking part In the 1948 campaign. Ninety-five per cent of the proceeds remain in the state to be used for health educa tion, mass x-rays and care of present tuberculosis patients. The remaining 5 per cent goes to the national association for medi cal research. Already more than 5.000 letters containing the new seals have gone into the mails to Roseburg and Douglas County residents, ac cording to Mrs. W. F. Amiot, executive secretary of the Doug las County Tuberculosis and Health Association.
