ROSEBURG, OREGON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28, 1948 NINE Society AZALEA GARDEN CLUB HAS ENJOYABLE MEETING Mrs. Walter Tanner and her daughter, Mrs. Fran- Hill, were hostesses to the Azalea Garden Club at a charming luncheon at the former's home Tuesday. Beau tiful bouquets of fall flowers were attractively arranged about the rooms. Covers were placed for Mrs. Glenora Tanner, Mrs. Doris Bra dy, Mrs. Betty Brady, Mrs. Edith Foreman, Mrs. Loeta Rife, Mrs. Anna Scott, Mrs. Velma Ander son, Mrs. Sylvia Jantzer, Mrs. Alice Jantzer. Mrs. TTodene Brown, Mrs. Leta McCollum. Mrs. E'.sie Prince. Mrs. Lester Robson, Mrs. Clara Mae Phelps and the hostesses. Mrs. Doris Brady had charge of the topic on color arrangement, artistic and harmonious designs for the garden. The next meeting will be NoV. f ' 9 at the home of Mrs. Alice Jant zer with Mrs. Clara Mae Phelps, assisting hostess. ROSEBURG CIRCLE TO MEET NEXT TUESDAY Roseburg Circle will meet at the home of Mrs. A. E. Dalros on the Garden Valley road at two oclocK Tuesday atternoon. Nov. 2. The Dalros home is located on the first driveway to right just preceding Mulholland Drive. Anyone desiring transportation may meet at the home of Mrs. Frank Johnson, 242 S. Rose street before one-thirty o'clock. DANCE HELD AT RICE HILL FRIDAY Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth La Mar of Rice Valley chaperoned the dance held at the Rice Hill Com munity hall Friday evening, which was sponsored for the pur- fjosc of raising funds for the jun or class of the Yoncalla High School. TAWANKA CAMP FIRE GIRLS GROUP HAS MEETING The Tawanka Camp Fire girls of Umpqua met at the school house Wednesday afternoon with the leader, Mrs. Katherine Road man, in charge. Group singing was enjoyed. Plans were made for future activities during the business session. PARTY TO BE HELD AT EVERG :EEN HALL SUNDAY A watch party will be held at Evergreen Grange hall Sunday evening, Oct. 31. Cards will be played and refreshments will be served. All members are urged to attend. PYTHIAN 8ISTERS TO HOLD SOCIAL TONIGHT Pythian Sisters will hold a social meeting tonight, Oct. 28, at eight o'clock at the K. of P. hall. Refreshments will be serv ed. All members are urged to be present. TOWN AND COUNTRY CLUB IS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Mary Sherley was host ess to the Yoncalla Town and Country club at her home Thurs day afternoon. Two beautiful birthday cakes were served dur ing the potluck lunch at noon, honoring Mrs. Delton Thiel. Mrs. Kremkau, Mrs. Russell Lloyd and Mrs. Hanson were appointed a committee to meet with the civic club on Friday evening. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Kremkau. Those present were Mrs. Clyde Sherley, and daughter Boneta. Mrs. LeRoy Hahson, Mrs. Kremkau, Mrs. Grass and two chlldr-in, Mrs. Del ton Thiel; Mi's. HARVEST HAM DINNER TO BE SERVED FRIDAY The women of the Dillard Church will sponsor a harvest ham dinner Friday night, October 29, beginning at six o'clock at the Dillard school. Oth er guests will include fifteen or more residents of Florence, where the organization of a club has been under consideration for some time, but no conclusion reached. Mr. and Mrs. J. I. McKay, form er operators of the Colonial Ap artments here, have sold their home in Springfield and are now living in Eugene, according to word received here by friends.
