employers to share the platform
at a public meeting last night,
but the employers said "No."
John Kougerouse, publicity
chairman lor the unions, asked
the employers to present their
side ol the controversy. K. E. Fer
guson, manager of the Water
front Employers Assoication,
said, "our position does not allow
us to talk to the unions with their
present leadership and we cer
tainly will not negotiate with
them through the medium of a
mass meeting."
Employer's have said they will
not negotiate until union officials
sign non-Communist affidavits.
Official records of the proceed
ings of meetings were originally
called minutes because they were
recorded in minute or small writ
ing, and later transcribed In a
larger hand.

Fadling Blasts
Revolt in LW.A.
PORTLAND, Ore.. Oct. 12 UP)
The CIO International Wood
workers of America got down to
convention business routine to
day after hearing President James
Fadling blast away at leaders of
revolt in British Columbia.
In opening the convention yes
terday, Fadling accused leaders
of Union's District Council No. X
there of "betraying the organiza
tion they helped to build."
He was referring to Harold
Prilchett, a'former IWA Interna
tional president, and Ernie Dal
skog, one time executive board
member. They sought to bolt the
Carent organization because of a
'. S. immigration ban against
some British Columbia delegates
to the convention.
Seventeen delegates from Brit
tish Columbia registered along
with more than 400 here from 45
states, Alaska and Canada. A un
ion spokesman said 26 others had
been refused entry at the U. S.
Canadian border.
Fadling said "we must have a
Democratic organization, but we
cannot have anarchy" in warning
the Canadian revolt leaders they
must answer for what they seek
to do. He added that "local after
local" in Canada has repudiated
Pritchett and Dalskog.'
