NEWS-REVIEW, ROSEBURG, OREGON SATURDAY, AUGUST 28, 1948 SEVEN Culinary Union Wins Pay Hike In Pendleton Strike PENDLETON, Or., Aug. 27 Settlement of the 11-day-old strike of restaurant workers, was announced todav by Culinary Workers Union AFL) officials. The agreement granted a 10-cents-an-hour wage boost asked by the union and included an open shop clause. Minimum wage of waitresses was raised from 65 cents to 75 cents an hour for a 44-hour week.
