Sutherlln Pastime, respectively,
decided upon a best two-out-of-three
series for the city playoff.
However, because of the lateness
of the season, both managers
agreed that the winner tonight
will be the official entry Into the
district competition with Cottage
Grove and Springfield. The two
remaining games will be played
after the district finals, probably
August 23 and 25.
Because of the Interrupted city
plavoff schedule, Roseburg may
be 'represented by a team which
actually may not be the city
champions. For Instance, if Suth
erlln wins tonight, the official
records of the district playoff
officials would enter Sutherlln
Pastime as the entry from Rose
burg and all players from Rose
burg would wear the green and
while of the Taverners. However,
after the district entry Is decided.
1 Sutherlln may return to Finlay
I Field and lose both of the re
i mainlng city playoff games. Then
. the Squirts would be city champ-
ions although they were not the
representative team In the dls
i trlct games.

the local fight circle, Talbot will
be making his third appearance

Talbot looked like an entirely
different fighter in his last at

debut against Bennett. Tabbed as
the underdog, Talbot completely
outhoxed the Klamath Falls giant
and floored McKay twice during
the contest, with hopes of a re
match with Bennett sometime In
the future, Talbot Is taking his
bout with O'Rourke seriously.
Bennett has accepted his chal
lenge but only on condition that
Talbot make as good a showing
Tuesday night as he did agaimt
McKay.
In announcing the semi final
bout. Schlotthauer spoke with
pride of Bueky O Conner the
newest addition to local fight
circles. In spite of local crltlcsm
regarding training for the fight
ers. O'Conner has agreed to ap
pear on the next card. Two weeks
ago, he moved to Roseburg from
Fresno, cant., ana tnree aays
after his arrival, he began his
niphtlv workouts in the gymnas
ium at the high school football
stadium. Local fight critics will
be Interested In knowing that
O'Conner goes through a regu
lar workout seven nights a week
and will be In top shape fop
Tuesday's card.
Portland fight manager, Wiley
Spivey will briig Sammy Benton
Into the ring as O'Connor's opponent.

Assured Between

Saturday's Pacific coast light

wrestling match at the Roseburg

Sunching brawl, but during the
hour time limit there seems
no doubt there will be consider

for the coveted crown Cham

Gordon Hessell.
Three weeks ago Hager, the
popular Oregonlan, won the third

Hessell defeated Hager in a re

There were no fistic flurries
Saturday, hut the going got
pretty rough at times and both
matmen may "blow their tops

this third engagement. Hessell,
the New Mexico stylist, warns
Hager to remain on the "straight
