By LOTUS KNIGHT PORTER MISSIONARY SOCIETY HAS INTERESTING MEETING The Women's Missionary Sod ety of the First Christian Church met Friday. The meeting was opened with prayer by the presl dent, Mrs. Emma Beckley, after which she reported on the June meeting and the Turner Conven tion, held the last week in June. Plans to decorate and furnish the hospitality room and to be gin work on tne Christmas iiv Ing protect were discussed. With the help of the Dally Vacation Bible School 100 handkerchiefs for the orphans of the Piney Woods School In Mississippi were collected. Mrs. Fay Clark led the devo tions with the topic, "Oh Let Me Not Wander from Thy Com mandments." Program director. Mrs. Coffell pesenied the lesson under the theme "On Our Own Doorstep." Using a special map she point ed out a few of the localities among the United States posses sions. More will be presented as the six-months study period pro gresses.
