Visiting Hre Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shepherd of Hlnes Creek, Alberta, Canada, are in Roseburg visiting their two sons, Jonathan and Bob, and with Mrs. Shepherd's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Harding. Horns From Wisconsin Mrs. Edward Murphy and children, Jennie and Michael, have return ed to their home In Roseburg, following three weeks visiting Mrs. Murphy's relatives at An tlgo. Wis. and other relatives and friends in several cities in Wisconsin. Liivi For Y.llowston. Mr. and Mrs. William I. Dixon of Roseburg left Thursday for Yel lowstone National Park on a vacation. They recently purchas ed the residence at the corner of Douglas and Claire streets, which was owned by Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Bubar, and upon their return will occupy t Lsavs For California Captain S. L. Kidder has left for his base at Santa Barbara, Calif., follow ing the summer service as an Instructor at the Fort Lewis, Wash., base. He spent several days visiting here with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Kidder, and was accompanied home for a visit by Mrs. Kidder and his aunt, Mrs. James E, Sawyers. Visit Horo Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Mitchell of Sacramento, Calif., who have been vacation ing In the Nirthwest, stopped In Roseburg for a few days last week to visit with their many friends here. The Mitchells are well known here, Mrs. Mitchell being the former Florence Kidd of this city. Mr. Mitchell is a member of the national executive committee of structural engineers. Go To Portland Mrs. Harold Ness and son, Johnny, of Rose burg have gone to Portland to meet Mr. Ness, who has been spending six months in Alaska In the commercial fishing busi ness. They will spend a week visiting In Seattle, after which they will return to Roseburg and Mr. Ness will resume his former work as a salesman in Millers' shoe department Mrs. Ness and Johnny were accompanied to Portland by the former's sister, Mrs. Ernest Gardner, of this city. Shanklln Sr., and family. The Shanklins took the visitors on sight-seeing trips to Crater Lake and the Oregon Caves. Visitors Leava Rev. and Mrs. Roy Achor have left for their home in Grandview, Wash., following an overnight stay In Roseburg at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Campbell, 941 Win chester street, enroute north from a trip to California. Rev. Mr. Achor, formerly pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Roseburg, is now pastor of the church at Grandview. Dr. Bubar Back In Office Dr. Dean B. Bubar has returned to his optometric office on Jackson street following an extended vacation since the middle of May. He and Mrs. Bubar enjoyed a trip to points of interest in South ern California, and in San Fran cisco Dr. Bubar attended the na tional optometric convention. Dr. Harry Scribner rt Portland was In charge of 'Dr. Bubar's office here during his absence. Dr. and Mrs. Scribner left this week for their home In Portland. Mrs. Bubar, who has been quite ill at her home on East Cass street since the middle of ' July, Is now able to be out again.
