Upon returning to Roseburg, Mr. Buiek opened the town's first real estate office. Miss Buick made her home enn-: tinuously in Roseburg, except for a short time spent with a brother ' in California. She una m mpmlwr of famllv i of nine children, seven sons and I two daughters. Mrs. Kate Sewell. Roseburg. is the only one of the nine children surviving. Miss Buick also leaves a sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Buick, Myrtle Creek; four nephews, Frank H. Buick. Redding, Calif.; H. Arthur Buick, Salt Lake City, Utah; K. O. Buick. Klamath Falls; David Buick, Miami, Florida, and two nieces, Mrs. Louis Pfau. Pasadena, California and Mrs. F. W. Poor man, Salem. Miss Buick was a life-long members of the Presbyterian Church and also was active in the work of the Ear tern Star and Re hekah lodges, and the Roseburg Woman's Club. The Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Morris H. Roach. The body will He in state at the mortuary Tuesday forenoon. Christian Church Convention Held SUTHERLIN The 92nd hi monthly county convention of Christian Churches of Douglas County was held at the Sutherlln Christian Church July 10. The meeting opened with a praise service at 10:30 a.m. with Rea Klelnfeldt of the local con gregation In charge. Representa tives were present from Voncalla, Oakland, Myrtle Creek. Glendale, Roseburg and Sutherlln. The theme for the day was "What Think Ye of Christ?" At the morning session, Klelnfeldt spoke on "Christ as Son of God," and the afternoon speaker was Kenneth Knox of the Roseburg Christian Church. His topic was "Christ as King." Others gave personal testimonies on the sub ject "Christ as Savior." Other features of the meeting were business meeting, song serv ices, and a solo by Mrs. Peterson of the Roseburg church. A Basket dinner was served In the east room at noon, for which the local Mary-Martha Club serv ed chicken and noodles. The next meeting will be held at Oakland InSeptember. N. Y. UP) Veteran songwriter. Jack Yellen, a Republican who inadvertently supplied a campaign song for the Democrats In 1932, hopes to even the score with his newest effort "Do We Want Dewey?" Yellen, in 40 yean of " song writing, has produced such favor ites as "I Wonder What's Become of Sally?" "Ain't She Sweet?" and "Happy, Days Are Here Again.'' Jt was the latter that was pick ed up by the Democrats and used as a campaign song for the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first successful bid for the presidency. Yellen said he gave a copy of the new song to Ed Jaeckle of Buffalo, one of Dewey's cam paign managers to tie used royalty-free by the Republican Cam paign Committee.
