C. (Bud) Horn, co-chairman with William Criswold for the dedication program. Date of the dedi cation awaits the arrival of U, S. Senator Guy Cordon. According to advice from his office, he will be able to attend July 25 or Aug. I. Writers are telling their editors, said Horn, of the national importance of the dedication on the basis that Drain, with a population of less than 1,000, has raised $?0 per capita to build the memorial and that the project is an outstanding example of community cooperation in commemorating the heroes of World War II. In the pictures here, scenes of the swimming pool and its users are shown above. At left, new field lights have been erected at the new athletic field being completed near the swimming pool. The field, it is asserted, will be the "best lighted on the West Coast." Grandstands are to be erected as part of the plan. Marsters at their Happy Valley ranch. The Elys, who have been on a month's vacation trip, enjoyed a tour of the Grand Canyon and stopped at points of interest in California, prior to coming to Roseburg. They left today for Eugene to vhlt and will return home via I-ake Louise and Banff, Canaila. Mm. Ely is the former Iona G. Marsters. daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I.eo M. Marsters of this city. She was graduated from University of Oregon School of Music and taught music in the Ashland schools prior to her mar riage.
