CLUB HAS AFTERNOON MEETING AT INGELS HOME Mrs. Lucia Ingcls graciously entertained the Roseburg Art and Embroidery Club at her home Wednesday afternoon, beautiful bouquets of mixed spring flowers were used about the rooms. The lace-covered tables were prettily appointed for the occasion. Following the business meeting, the Pollyanna game was enjoyed, after which a flower guessing contest was held and prizes were awarded to the winners. At the tea hour lovely refresh ments were enjoyed by Mrs. R. A. Addison, Mrs. Jennie Leach I and Mrs. Homer Kronke, guests, and Mrs. C. J. Bradley, Mrs. Frank Kent, Mrs. Alice Rhoads, Mrs. Glenn Cox, Mrs. F. I. Betts, Mrs. A. D. Hnwn, Mrs. J. G. Stephenson, Mrs. C. M. Page, Mrs. Henry Krskine, Mrs. Zella Miller, Mrs. Henry Worthington, Mrs. Jesse Bowman, Mrs. George Cluck, Mm. H. F. Snyder, Mrs. W. H. Bailey, Mrs. C. H. Bailey and the hostess, Mrs. Ingcls. Oregon Chapter No. 57, O. E. S. Canyonville, Oregon, celebrated its 50th anniversary Saturday evening, February 28th, 1948. The Golden Anniversary was celebrated in the Canyonville Community Building on Febru ary 28th with an attendance of 350. The hall was beautifully deco rated with golden tinted cedar boughs, Oregon graK, and Doug las ilr with large golden nu merals of 1S9H and 1938 carrying out the anniversary theme. Each guest was presented a lovely golden tinted Oregon grape favor. Mrs. Flora Wilson Smick, who was unable to attend the celebra tion, the only 'Ivlng charter mem ber, who is still a member of Ore gon Chapter, was sent a 50 year jewel. The other living charter members, Mrs. Jennie Arzner Harris, a member of Roseburg Chapter No. 8, Mrs. Nettle Ref field Levens, a member of Glen dale No. 71, and Mrs. Cora Sand ei son, a member of Aloha No. 61, Klamath Falls were sent flowers. Oregon's Chapter history was presented by groups of members attired in styles depicting scenes of each decade during the Chap ter's 50 years. The boys wore their new band uniforms. Miss Ina Farnsworth gave a history of the lodges. Mr. Nicason played a group of violin numbers, accompanied by Oliver riummer. St., Portland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrel Olson, for merly of Roseburg, was a mem ber of the group receiving the greatest applause at the Multno mah County Spring Music Festi val held at the civic auditorium in Portland, April 30. The group later broadcast their part of the program over KWJJ radio sta tion on May 1st. A three-hundred piece orchestra furnished special numbers for the program. Miss Olson is a granddaughter of Mary Long Sparks and a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Olson of Roseburg.
