Mrs. Lucille Chase, noble grand, assisted by Mrs. Lydia Gillette, vice grand, conducted the meet ing. ' '' An applicatibn for member ship was read and committees appointed. The communication about the time and place of Grand Lodge was read attain so that all members who wish to take the Assembly Degree wouid be sure to attend at the right date. The noble grand a'sked that all members have their duties learn ed by next meeting so that each when called on might respond. Every member of the degree staff is urged to be present at the next meeting, May 6th, as the captain wishes to have a practice so as to be able to initiate soon. A social hour was enjoyed and later the hostesses, Mrs. Lucille Chase and Miss Luella Pleuard, served a potluck super at a table decorated with bouquets of flow ering quince, cherry blossoms and baby breath. DELEGATES HONORED AT POTLUCK AFFAIR YONCALLA One of the out standing social events of the year of the Methodist church, was the dinner, held in the new ly decorated Epworth Hall, Tues day evening honoring ' Norval Ritchey of Yoncalla, Rev. and Mrs. Brown and Miss Pat Scott; of Cottage Grove. Honored guests were all delegates to the Youth Conference at Cleveland,, Ohio, in January. During the dinner hour, thev all gave vivid reports on highlights of the conference. The long tables were decorated with large bouquets of early brid al wreath and King Alfred daf fodils. The young people had a table for themselves, where a de licious potluck dinner was served. One hundred guests were present. W. S. OF C. S. HAS INTERESTING MEETING SUTHERLIN The Women's Society of Christian Service met Thursday at the parlors of the Methodist church. The meeting was called to order by the presi dent, Mrs. Douglas Geddes. Mrs. Orville French had charge of the devotionals with Mrs. Ward Wat son, assisting at the piano. ' Much quilting was accomplish ed during the day as several members came early and quilted before the meeting. After the business session Mrs. Dwight Beck read a most inter esting - short story entitled, "Grandma and the Sea Gull." Fol lowing this, tea was served with SAWDUST 4' Dry ,16" Dry Mrs. Harold Jones pouring. Those enjoying the meeting were: Mrs. Dwight Beck, Mrs. P. A.
